At this point i'd havta say 05 could beat 08 based on the fact that even though our offense is as good as it has ever been, our defense was stellar back then.
And right now our defense is a major liability to us, so a mediocre 05 offense wouldnt have too many problems with us.

Yeah but if they had to play eachother 05 matches up better against us. Not saying that they are a better team, they just have an advantage if we had to play them.
Do you realise our D has won every game for us, except the NE game? We didn't even score the second half of the Chargers game. We shut down an awesome receiver and a team known for running in Denver, and got 3 picks to include a pick 6. Did you see the plays made to preserve the Seattle game starting with their 2 point attempt? The D is the major reason we are in this thing. Some say it's Penny, but he keeps us in games because of our D.
Not to mention the Buffalo game were Trent was under major heat, and the safety was the turning point of the game.

The D cost us the Jets game. The D cost us the Cards game. The D cost us the Houston game. The D cost us the Ravens game. The D would have cost us the Seattle game. If you go back and look at all of the dropped balls by seattle receivers its rediculous.
Your the first person i've seen on this site give THAT much credit to our defense. Yeah they may be playing alright considering what the personnel is like in the backfield but it is anything but consistant.
Let me remind you that our defense in 2005 was great....UNTIL they were in clutch situations. Then they just collapsed. As we showed yesterday, we have outstanding character and we do not fold in clutch situations. This group we have now is solid and reliable.
Not to mention that Jason Taylor would have a pretty hard time against Big Jake...I would love to see that match right now. :D

05 JT vs. a Rookie? Listen man i'm a big jake long fan and yes he's been great for a ROOKIE. JT in his prime exploits even seasoned pro-bowlers. The matchup would have favored Taylor, especially considering it was his prime.
The Jets scored 20 points on us, Penny's bad throw in the back of the endzone cost us that game. The AZ game I'll give you, but it's hard to win scoring 10 points. The other 2, if we could have picked up some 3rd downs on O, the D wouldn't have been on the field so long. Our D is 11th in points allowed. I am not the first person to say the D has won us games.

No your not the first person to say the D has won us games. Your the first person to say that the D won us 4 of our games. The 4 games were based more on the performance of the offense than the inconsistancy of the defense.

Take it easy kid, this was before he was the dancing queen. If your telling me you werent touting up his name that year then i doubt youve been a dolphins fan for very long.

Are you serious? Penny did as much as you could ask for on that final drive. The point is it should have never even gotten to that point. You cant blame a QB that we signed like 2 1/2 weeks before the game. But you can blame a defensive unit that has been here all throughout training camp. That one lob into the endzone by brett favre was because we couldnt finish a sack. The fact that somone caught it was because the entire secondary had their heads up their *****. Not to mention the PA pass that went for a long TD catch.
