I am curious as to what you all think about our OC next year if Linehan goes to St. louis. I, for one, obviously hope he stays. However if he goes who do you want to take the offensive reigns? Mike Martz would be my obvious choice but he says currently he has no interest in a Coordinator job, but that can change. I would like to give Baggett a shot at OC. His crudentials are impressive and I think he is ready.

Norv Turner has already been hired by SF.

Turner will spend more thne one year with the 49ers, so take him out of the list. Ferentz will prob only be coming to the NFL if he can get a HC job somewhere and Garrett needs alot more then two years of coaching experience to be a OC. So in other words, Baggett would have to be the choice.

I would like Martz as our OC, but, the problem with that is that, most probably in the next season or two, he would find another job... And again, we start over. That is a place we need consistency on... So anyone who would agree to stay here 3-4 years would be great...

The advantage of Baggett is that we wouldn't have to start over. He has credentials, but no playcalling experience.

Turner - We know that Turner is unavailable (not that I'd want him).

I just don't like Martz and what he does to QBs. He kills them. He turned Warner into mush and is well on his way with Bulgar. I also don't think that he'd get along with Saban. Talk about opposites...If Saban had told Martz to leave the pressbox and come down to the sidelines, Martz is so egotistical that he'd have gotten physical with him or something. I just dont' think they'd mesh too well.

Heimerdinger (sp) would be a good choice, and similar offense but he's probably headed back to his daddy in Denver since Kubiak is going off to Houston.

Al Saunders is another good choice, but he'll probably end up as HC in Oakland.

Another interesting guy is Rich Rodriquez from WVU. He has ties to Saban and wants to move into the pros. It's kind of late for college coaches to be moving on, so he may decline in the interest of the schools program.

Mike Sherman (assuming he doesn't get a HC job) is available, but he is a WCO guy. That's not to say we couldn't change, but we'd really have a problem with both RW and RB in the WCO...we certainly couldn't use both...

There is going to be a lot of movement once the HCs get squared away...It appears that by the end of this week, only Oakland and Houston won't have named people and everyone knows that Kubiak is going to Houston.

I think Linehan will be with us for at least another year, but he will get a HC job eventually, and I want Baggett to take over when that happens. Groom Garrett to take over if Baggett turns out to be really good and move on in several years.
