Yep, as hard as it was to watch us lose to the Jets (Again!) and Texans(Again!), I've just got to keep reminding myself this team is a work in progress, and to just enjoy the games we do perform well in Win or Lose(NE and SD were Sweet Wins!).

Believe this, Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano already know this teams' weaknesses, and who's staying and who's going once the season is over. They just have to wait until free agency and then the draft to continue adding the building blocks to longterm success.

With that in mind, positions of most need for '09...

WR - We need 2 Starters (Camarillo to slot, and Ginn to ? I GIVE UP!)
CB - Game-changing corner to play opposite Will Allen
DT - Could be our next #1 Pick here!!! (Ferguson will be in 13th season)
LB's - Channing is ok, but not a game changer, Porter getting older too.
FB - Run Blocking / Pass Protecting machine with hands
TE - (why TE right?) Parcells Loves a bigtime TE (Bavaro, Coates, Witten)
S - Hard hitting complement to Y. Bell
O & D Lines - Always looking to add depth in the trenches
ST - Controlled Crazed Ballers for the Special Teams!!!

Where we're good through '09
QB - Chad & Chad are the men
RB - Ricky, Ronnie, Cobbs, we're solid here
TE - Fasano might be Parcells next Bavaro, but no Witten
LT - Long is the man already, GREAT PICK!
LG - Smiley, excellent FA pickup
C - Satele is getting better, but Parcells loves Dominant C's
RG - If Thomas is a as good as Sparano says
RT - If Carey continues to get better
DE -Langford, Merling nice picks, Holliday and Starks are solid players
DT - Ferguson is excellent, but getting oooold
S - Bell is Excellent (Crocker and Allen...not so excellent)
CB - Will Allen is solid, Lehan and Goodman too small, not physical enough
P - Appears pretty good
K - We'll see after the season

GONE for sure...Hagan, Wilford & Beck, maybe Jason Allen too...

Realistically, I'm hoping for 6-8 wins this season, and then time to get fired up for Free Agency and the Draft..Fast Forward please!... lol

GO PHINS!

Peace Out Ya'll!

I agree with most of what you said except for tight ends. I think Fasano could be just as good as Witten, just give the kid some time. Hes proven to be a beast in blocking so far and catches everything thrown his way.

That being said, in the upcoming draft, we need to get DT, LB, and secondary help. I think Parcells will go after receivers in free agency.

catches everything thrown his way except a important one at the end of the S.D game and the one that went off his hands and was picked vs the texans that should of ended the game

Yeah agreed, the position I thought the most about was at TE too...Fasano's a good player, I guess it comes down to who's available when we pick, and how many holes were left to be filled after Free Agency. If we get 1 or 2 excellent FA's then I'll be very happy. Was sorta hoping we'd make a move for an established receiver before the trade deadline, and with Dallas giving up way too much for Roy Williams, I'm glad we didn't.

I'm sorry, but it's much more fun to root for unrealistic expectations than to be a realist.

When you discuss Parcells loving his TE's, keep in mind that it isn't like he sold the farm for Witten. He was a mid-round pick just like a lot of other good players. So yes, Parcells is happy to have him on his team, but I don't think he's gonna bust out and spend a top 10 pick on a TE.

and Im sure the Pats will say the same thing after losing to the Dolphins, or the Giants after losing to the Browns or the Broncos after losing to the Chiefs or the Redskins after losing to the Rams etc etc

I didn't see anywhere where I said that Miami would use a #1 pick on a TE...I only showed it as an area for improvement given Parcells love of the position.

Peasce out!

I'm not sure that the Dolphins need to improve the TE position, which has completely taken me by surprise because i never expected David Martin to play as well as he has so far this season and Fasano while i liked him i didn't think he'd be as productive as he is on pace to be.

The rest of your analysis i agree with though. In fact i love Camarillo at the slot if we can get a true #1 WR. If we did i think you'd look at Ginn to be the number two, and get rid of dead weight Hagan and Wilford.
