I thought I'd compare the Dolphins vs. Patriots projected starting lineups for this season just for the fun of it. These are just my opinions so feel free to agree or disagree.

OFFENSE

QB Beck/McCown/Henne < Brady
RB Brown > Maroney
WR Wilford < Moss
WR Ginn > Gaffney
WR Bess < Welker
LT Long = Light
LG Smiley < Mankins
C Satele = Koppen
RG Murphy < Neal
RT Carey > Kaczur
TE Fasano < Watson

DEFENSE

LDE Merling/Starks/Langford/Roth < Warren
NT Ferguson < Wilfork
RDE Holliday < Seymour
OLB Porter = Vrabel
ILB Torbor < Seau/Mayo
ILB Crowder = Bruschi
OLB Taylor > Thomas
CB W. Allen > Hobbs
CB Lehan > Wheatley

Okay, Wheatley isn't the 2nd corner. Fernando Bryant is. Fernando Bryant > Lehan. Also I dont see how Ginn is better than Gaffney. But just for the sake of argument, I'll give you that he is. But Gaffney is the #3 reciever while Ginn is the Dolphins #1/2. So in reality it should be Moss > Wilford and Welker > Ginn. You can't change the recievers matchups to favor the Dolphins. I know everyone here is in love with Satele, but how can you say he's equal to a Pro Bowl two time Super Bowl Champion center? Joey Porter is equal to Mike Vrabel? Porter and his 65 tackles and 5.5 sacks compared to Vrabel's 77 tackles and 12.5 sacks. I understand you want to make the Dolphins look a little closer to the Patriots but this is a stretch.
 
you cant make these comparisons because who knows how good the pats actually are now that they aren't going to be cheating!! GO FINS

I'd take Long over Light any day of the week. Light is the most over rated LT in the league. I'd also take Satele over Koppen. Torbor is better than Seau and remains to be seen whether Mayo is a good NFL player.
Porter is also better than Vrabel. I'd also take Bell over Harrison, simply because of age and liability in pass coverage.

Gaffney over Ginn? You are kidding, right? Gaffney is nothing special, whereas Ginn showed flashes last season with an unstable QB situation.
Many of Vrabel's sacks were coverage sacks. Porter played out of position last yr. You underestimate the impact of coaching schemes in your analysis.
I wouldn't trade Satele for Koppen because Satele has a much higher upside. Only time will tell.

-Bryant greatly over Lehan is a freakin joke.. Maybe sliiiightly
-Ginn is 100% better than Gaffney
-Moss is definately better than Wilford
-Ginn and welker is a toss up, but if I had to choose, Ginn definately will end up better than Welker
-Porter is definately better than Vrabel, you forgot to add the 2 int's Porter had to Vrabels 0
