Player Salaries

Salaries for individual players will be taken from http://www.nflpa.org/Resources/ActivePlayerSearch.aspx between now and the start date and are frozen for the entire span of the season. There are two ways a players salary changes. One is if he is released and then resigned via free agency within the GM League (not real NFL).

The second way is if a player restructures his salary, you may change it as long as he is still on his original team and the salary change shows up on the link given above. Once a player is traded, his salary stays the same unless he is cut by the team in the GM league.

When Cutting A Player

There is no penalty for cutting a player. If a player has a cap value of 3 million and you release or trade him, the entire 3 million is subtracted off your cap.

When Trading A Player

Once a player is traded his entire salary is transferred to the acquiring team.

2008 Salary Cap

The salary cap for the 2007 GM League will be determined in the near future. You will need to be under this number before the start of free agency and stay under for the remainder of the year.

Franchise/Transition Tags

All tags and tenders must be submitted before the start of free agency (sometime in March).

The 2008 Franchise/Transition numbers will be determined and posted in the near future.

RFAs/ERFAs

You must place a tender on all the RFA's and ERFA's you have that you plan to keep. Remember you get right to match the salary of what teams offer your players. If you do not, you get compensation based on the tender.

These are the types of RFA/ERFA's that you can resign to your respected team:

Exclusive Rights (no one else can sign these guys): $700K

Original Draft Round (match offer or get a pick (original draft round) from bidding team): $850K

Second round draft pick (match offer or get a second round pick from bidding team): $1.3 mil

First round draft pick (match offer or get a first round pick from bidding team): $1.85 mil

First and third round draft picks (match offer or get a first and a third round pick from bidding team): $2.35 mil

Free Agency

To acquire free agents, we will use a bid format here on the forums.

All the bids will be able to be seen as it stands and the highest bid that goes 24 hours without being matched wins.

You CANNOT cut a player you signed in free agency.

Teams cannot bid on more than 10 players at a time, nor go over the salary cap. Meaning do not bid more money than you have. If we catch anyone doing this, all bids will be forfeited.

2008 GM League NFL Draft

The 2008 GM League Draft will be held at a date and time to be determined. We will do a full 7 round draft. Time limits and such will be discussed the day of the draft.

Bullpen Lists

If you are going to miss your slot send a bullpen list to either the two GM League Moderators or one of the Draft Committee members to automatically make your pick.

A bullpen list will look like this.

Team A
1. DE Chris Long (if he is not available go to pick 2)
2. QB Matt Ryan (if he is not available go to pick 3)
3. RB Darren McFadden

You get the general idea...

From the second round on, the picks will be done as soon as possible in the same format as the first round. If you are not available leave a
bullpen list to choose from.

Draft Pick Salaries

We will have draft pick salaries. You will need to keep track of your picks and what they will cost to ensure you do not go over the cap on draft day. Rookie salaries will be determined by where they are drafted:

First round selections:

1 - 5 pick: $750,000
6 - 10 Pick: $700,000
11 - 20 Pick: $650,000
21 - 32 Pick: $600,000

Other round selections:

2nd round: $500,000
3rd round: $400,000
4th-7th round: $350,000
