He guys, this will be my fantasy offense for opening day 2008, i will try and explain all the moves.

LT - Flozell Adams: The free agent would love nothing more than to be reunited with Sparano, Parcells and company, I always believed theres no excuse not to field a good O-line there's always so much talent in free agency.

LG - Alan Faneca: Like Adams, Faneca is a 1998 draftee, and I know im reaching here, but given our cap space, and Parcell's agressive nature in the FA market, Faneca can be had

C - Samson Satele: I wasn't as hot on Satele as many others were, but given the fact that th big Samoan managed to start all 16 games, and played with poise and a positive attitude, I'll give the kid another year to anchor th o-line, but be warned he will be on a short leash in 09 season if h doesnt prov he could start for another 10 years.

RG - Rex Hadnot: I like Sexy Rexy's attitude, he plays tough, and actually believes he is one of the best guards in the league. He is wrong about that, but a fiery attitude on the o-line is a good thing. I know he wants an extension or will threaten to hold out, he better not push too much.

RT - Vernon Carey: Wanny's boy is a quite big guy who is the consumate professional, I believe Vernon would start on quite a few teams, and he will start on mine.

TE - Martin Rucker: I really thought I was going to start David Martin, but I just can't, he's no good, and Peele is above him on my depth chart anyway. Rucker is a rookie, and at 6'6 - 255 lbs he's big kid with a basketball player's body. I predict the fins could grab this kid with a 3rd rnd pick, or maybe the extra 2nd.

RB - Ronnie Brown: Even is Cam was too blind to see how good Ronnie is, I'm not, I love the kid, and I really think he could become something very special. I would of released Cleo and called up Jeff George or Bledsoe after that stupid interception caused Ronnie his knee, here's praying the kid fully recovers.

FB - Ricky Williams: Ofcourse Regan Mauia will get plenty of playtime, but I really thought Satan was on to something in '05 when he was playing Ronnie and Ricky at the same time, Ricky was a beast with Ronnie on the field, and vice versa, I look Ricky to become a proffesional this season, he never be the 1,800 yard back again, but a solid player nonetheless.

WR 1 - Andre Davis: I really thought about Bernard Berrian here, and also the Michigan receiver Mario Manningham. I have a strong feeling Mario will end up a fin but maybe 4th on the depth chart to replace Hagan. In terms of Berrian, i think the Bears will fight and claw to keep him. Back to Andre, he only had 563 yards this season with 3tds but he also had a 17.7 yard avg. I like that, and so will Tuna and co. He is a deep threat and has some of the softest hands I've seen. He is not a long term solution, only a bandaid until Ginn and or any other younger receiver step up.

WR 2 - Patrick Crayton: The Dallas migration continues, and Tuna will bring Patrick over, he is potentially the ideal #2 receiver in any system the fins run next year. I think the cowboys will do anything they can to lock him up next season, but the kid's speed and hands have certainly caught my attention.

WR 3 (Slot) - Ted Ginn Jr.: What Ginny lacks in talent and size he makes up with in heart and toughness, the kid showed me that last season. Ginn tried his little heart out in every play even though the results might not of always been there. His ability to improvise and bail the QB out of tough situations will make him a perfect slot guy next season.

QB - Brian Brohm: Yes I said it, Bran Brohm will be the number one player drafted by the Dolphins (hopefully not #1 overall). I gotta tell you I was between Brohm and Grossman, and I do think Rex will be a Dolphin next season, but just not the starter. Every new "saviour" for the fins has lived and died at the QB position, and it will be no different with Tuna. He's going to have to make his bed. I also think the Bledsoe pick was his proudest one, and he's going to look at the QBs very hard this draft you can bet on it. On the bright side when you look deeper at Brian Brohm you see a kid with a very similar collegiate life as Dan Marino, awesome junior year, solid senior season but not quite up to expectations, etc... I saw this kid play he is good, stronger arm than Matt Ryan, and much tougher, he is also willing to play through pain and adversity. If the fins don't grab him, I gurantee someone will in the top 10 picks.

Notables:

QB - Rex Grossman: I think Bill Parcells coached when Rex was showing his moments of greatness, and yes he has had them. Some of those rainbow bombs to Bernard Berrian are just gorgeous. I think Rex will get a shot in Miami depending on how well Brian Brohm performs in the senior bowl and combine.

RB - Lorenzo Booker: Like many of you on this board, I am bigtime on the LB bandwagon, the kid is electric, and that will only continue to grow. The dolphins will have Booker and Ginny returning kicks next year, that should give us nice field position everytime.

WR - Marty Booker: Even though he has led the fins in receptions and yards the passed 2 seasons, I don't see him as part of the plans.

thoughts?

crayton already resigned with dallas

also can't see us signing 3 OL (Hadnot having to be re-signed).

Yeah I agree with the above post, I dont see that many free agent lineman being signed. I think we address one line position in the draft somewhere early. That line you listed is just too old and would probably be too costly.

As far as the WR I think we might sign one in free agnecy, but again I think we address this also with a draft pick and a free agent to go with Ginn and Hagan.

Even if we did draft a QB I believe it would be in the later rounds, and Brohm will not be ready to step in game one. And if we were going to draft one I would prefer Woodson, he might be available farther down and he has size and skills (see Woodson thread). But no Rookie QB is stepping in game one and playing.

I didnt Crayton had resigned, then I can see us going after Bernard harder...

and I disagree with you we will be signing many linemen... count on it.

Lack of a big target WR is about it. Parcells loves em. And these playoff games just show you how much you need em. Just like Keyshawn and to a lesser extent TO. I don't think Ricky can be a FB because he's sub-par in blocking. That's about all I see wrong.

crayton has already been resigned and i think ricky is being brought back only as trade bait

This is extremely unrealistic. You have us signing two dinosaurs on the offensive line and I guarantee you we won't do that. (Maybe 1, not 2.) Also, Alan Faneca pretty much already has his name stiched on a Cardinals jersey. As others said, Crayton has been resigned, Davis is not a #1 receiver (Ginn is) and why do you want Ginn in the slot? He's the fastest player in the league, he belongs on the edge.

Drafting Brian Brohm (or any QB for that matter) at #1 would be a monumental mistake. We have huge needs on the defensive line and the two best players in the draft are a DT and a DE.

And Ricky Williams as a fullback? Is that a serious remark?

You had me until I read the name Rex Grossman. :disapprove:

Ricky is not a fullback, obviously, but i can see us using both ricky and ronnie the way that Saban used to... but I do think ricky will share the backfield with ronnie more than Reagan...

Wether it's through the draft or FA, Ireland will go after a big target receiver, that's what the offense needs, to oppose Ginn. Ginn IS the deep threat, we need a big target to go after. I would expect Hagan to see a lot of time next year as well.

Brohm will not be drafted, I don't see any benefit to drafting a QB that high when there are so many other needs.

I see us going after one of the FA linemen that you mentioned, not two however, I'd look to the draft for another lineman.

Beck is going to be behind the gun next year.

With the way we're cleaning house i doubt Beck plays, Tuna has zero patience. He loves getting rid of people to make a point, they'll be no "he gives us the best chance to win" attitude, it'll be "win or else."

Listen I like Beck, but we'll know if Beck is Tunas man very soon. It is by no means a shoe in.

Ronnie runs better behind a back that can lead him through the hole. Ricky isn't going to be a bruising full back, he'll be a backup to Ronnie.

The only two tail back sets I think we'll see will be in passing downs with Ronnie and Lorenzo Booker. These guys are two of the best receiving backs in all of football.

Offensive starters - WR - B.Johnson(FA), T.Ginn, D.Hagen
RB - R.Brown
TE - B.Cottam(4th)
OL - F.Adams(FA), V.Carey, S.Satele, R.Hadot(RS), A.Collins(3rd)
QB - J.Beck

i like the offensive line and TE and that is about it. i have suggested the same in previous posts. no way to the QB situation. ricky at FB won't work unless he puts on some serious weight and then and only then it could be intriguing. WR what? our first tier receivers are none. our second tier receivers are ginn, booker, crayton (he resigned by the way), andre davis. what are we going to do with all the #2 receivers. I would honestly even put berrian in the group of 2nd teir, but that is just my opinion. and even if you were able to sign all of those players you will have virtually zero money and no high draft picks to overhaul an aging and one of the worst defenses in the league. if beck turns out to be the answer then on offense we are only really missing a couple of lineman, a TE, and a #1 wide receiver from being competitive. 2 in free agency on the line and a good TE, in the draft is very realistic and with Carey back at RT our line gets only that much better. however there is no clear cut #1 available this offseason at WR so we will just have to deal with that one next year and focus our draft and remaining free agent dollars on the D.

oh
1)where do you get cam was to blind to see how good ronnie was? ronnie put forth the effort, but cam's play calling made ronnie the workhorse of the offense and let him become one of the best backs in the league for the first time.
2)satele for a rookie center tore it up. claiming short leash and he needs to prove himself is nonsense. he has already proven to be our center for the next 10 years.
3)ginn lacks talent?
