We were supposed to address secondary,
Yeremiah Bell is playing great,
Goodman has played great the las 4 or 5 games
Will Allen was supposed to be the best CB we had, an he'd played at a high level the whole season

Renaldo Hill and Nathan Jones both have played decently...

So do we address our secondary through FA or Draft..

Now I believe LB and DL are a must....

What do you guys think?

Our secondary is 30+ years old with the starters. We use the draft and start getting guys ready for the future...

Seconday First. I still dont buy into the Will Allen Hype. He has good moments, but for some reason he is constantly slipping or tripping at the wrong time. He also finds himself out of position alot. Goodman is the real deal. He was still dealing with injury when he came back early on. Right now your seeing the real goodman.
n. Jones.....eh..... Wont make many rosters for his coverage skills this year.

We go after DB first and foremost in the draft. Someone who can take N. Jones spot in the Nickle Package and learn from Allen and Goodman till the time is right to give Allen the boot.
Chubbs

Secondary, LBs and a WR this offseason.

We probably won't address the WR in draft, but in FA.

I'm all for using our first 3 picks (1st, WAS 2nd, MIA 2nd) on defense. Our needs are IMO: NT, OLB, ILB, CB, S...

Choose the BPA among those 5 positions (1 each) and adress the other 2 in FA and day 2 draft picks for projects...

If you want to face reality, and we are going to run the 3-4 then we are going to draft a stud at the nose tackle position. Here are the most logical positions for us to improve.

1. Nose Tackle (very important for 3-4)
2. Free Safety (we have not had too much consistency, renaldo hill can back p both free and strong safety)
3. Cornerback (we need a solid number 2)
4. Strong Outside Linebacker

Might as well replace the whole defense according to yoru assesment.

No, not at all but:

NT: We need a young NT to groom for 1 year behind Ferguson
OLB: Porter is not that young and Roth is not an ideal fit IMO
ILB: Crowder is a FA and Ayodele is good but not elite
CB: Allen and Goodman are playing well right now but everybody here know that we need a stud CB. ASAP!
S: Bell will stay long term but Hill is not a long term solution nor Allen

Our defense played above expectations but let's not kid ourselves, the only position where we can safely say that we don't need anybody is DE where Merling and Langford are here for a loooong period of time barring injuries.

Well, do we need much work on offense?

RB - R&R plus Cobbs and Polite. set.
QB is set.
TE is set.
OL? Maybe some depth, but the line has been looking pretty good late in the season considering we lost our starting RG and LG.
WR? I'm comfortable with Ginn, Camarillo, Bess, and London. Again, some depth would be nice.

Our offense is playing pretty conservative for 3/4 of every game and still putting up 20 points.

The defense has looked good, but come on. They're still giving up too many plays to teams like Seattle, Oakland, KC, etc.

Ferguson is getting old and we need to find a replacement for such an important position. The secondary....yea, they have been playing well, but they're getting older too and we could definitely use help. We need to get another pass rusher too.

FS/CB in the first round. When we pick all the elite NT's will be gone. Maybe trade up for Taylor Mays?
1-FS/CB (depends who's left)
2-CB/NT (washington picking 14 now.)
3-ILB
4-OLB

We need to upgrade CB, ILB, OLB,NT, WR and S in my opinion. Most important position to address, NT and ILB.

I still think we should go FS in the first round and afterward get a DT in a later round or FA, I just don't think you get a 1st rounder at DT doing all your dirty work IMO

we get cushing the mlb out of usc hopefully then i can sense a trade of 2nd round picks to get a guy like braylon edwards or something in that neighborhood

Terrance Cody COULD be available when we select, he's penciled around 18-25 right now and he's 375. What do you think about him?

1st)CB
2nd)OG
2nd)ILB(depending on crowder situation) or OLB
3rd)OG or WR
4th)NT
5th)WR or OG

NT is not as important as your making it seem. Ferguson had a decent year and his two backups are decent. Might not even draft one till later rounds.
