I think this is obvious...this is a loaded defensive class. We have several areas we need to address: DT, S, WR, LB, and RB.
I feel as if are weakest area was our secondary. Unfortunately, Eric Berry will not be available at the #12 spot. I feel encouraged by Vontae Davis and Sean Smith as they both showed signs of potential. Having one season now under their belt, they should be able to pull their own weight.
We can all agree we do not have a number 1 receiver. Our guys are a collection of #2 to #3 receivers. Dez Bryant may be available at the 12 spot but I'm thinking we would be much better off grabbing a receiver in the free agent market. Burleson, Antonio Bryant, and possibly Brandon Marshall may be available. I read somewhere on ESPN that apparently Marshall and the Broncos owner are now on the same page. Indicating that he will be in Denver come next season.
Many people will probably disagree with me here, but I woulnd't be dissapointed if we were able to take CJ Spiller in the first round. Ronnie Brown is injury-plagued..Ricky Williams has about one more good season left in him. He looked much like Adrian Peterson towards the end of the season, not the good A.P. who is an overall dynamic player, but rather, the one who suffers from a major condition of fumbilitis.
With the soon to be announced departure of Joey Porter, LB will be another area of interest. Most Dolphins fans are in favor of Rolando Mcclain. He's a stud pick and should be there at 12. Channing Crowder is apparently back in good grace with Tony Sporano after hosting the intiial blasting of Sporano by Joey Porter on the radio. Who knows where he'll be come the 2010 season.
To wrap things up. I think we address our WR needs in the Free Agent market, afterall it takes a couple seasons under a receiver's belt to fully adjust to the NFL and make an impact. I would love Eric Berry, as he would make an immediate impact in our secondary. It would be difficult to say he would be there at 12 harbouring all of that talent but crazier things have happened...see 2005 draft when Alex Smith went No. 1 overall and Aaron Rodgers fell to Packers.
Rolando Mcclain will most likely be the guy we take in the first round. I say draft D all the way through the 7th round. What do you guys think?
