Active Roster
What I would like for the Dolphins to acheive before the start of 2010.
Hire Keith Butler as DC. Was looking at the stats of the LB when Butler was there. Players like Earl Holmes, Jamir Miller and Wali Rainer. Earl Holmes had probably his best statistical year, Holmes was the only Brown selected to Pro Bowl and Rainer in rookie season had 136 tackles. When you look at what he has done with the Steelers LB and being tutored under D.LeBau.........I want him!
LB coach. I would love Zach Thomas. The best coaches are usually the ones who were the brightest footballing minds who did not have the phyiscal capabilities to play in NFL. Zach Thomas was 5/11 242lbs and still had a near Hall of Fame career. He was a disciple of studying film and trends and out-guessing opponent offences. Dat Nguyen nowhere near as good, but was a similar type of player for Dallas and he is their LB coach, so not so far fetched.
Free Agency - Karlos Dansby. Only 28 and a playmaker at ILB. Would like to pair him with Crowder.
Then draft. Trade down cpl of picks in 1st round and then select T. Cody. If we get Dansby, our biggest need would be a space eating, collapsing the pocket NT. Nobody better than Cody. Then If availabe pass rushing OLB, weatherspoon / Kindle. 3rd pick S Nate Allen, we got to replace G. Wilson, either through draft or Chris Clemons. 4th TE, A Hernandez. I think we have to get a pass catching TE to complement A Fasano. 5th another ILB for depth.
Imagine starting 2010, zone blitzing DC, with Butler and Zach looking after LB corps. Starks, Cody, Langford on Dline with Merling, Solai and Mcdaniel rotating. OLB, Porter, Taylor, Wake, Anderson, Moses and Weatherspoon/Kindle. ILB Dansby and Crowder. Secondary, Smith, Davis, Will Allen, Clemons/ Nate Allen at FS and Bell and G.Wilson competing for SS.
Suddenly I:up: see....................
