I'll start by pointing this was Jeff Ireland best draft.

Every commentator at NFLN or ESPN expressed Dolphins over-drafted while selecting Ryan Tannehill at #8.
I shared their thoughts until reviewing Ryan's chapter of John Gruden's QB Camp.
There Tannehill proved he's an outstanding smart guy with excellent football knowledge and passion for this game. Also unlike Chad Henne he learns from his mistakes and can make any throw and I mean it, any throw. He has "the rocket arm" plus "the touch", and his mayor question mark is he played at WR for two seasons before becoming the starting QB.
Today, such question mark is erased on my mind.
Zac Taylor, assistant coach of the Dolphins used less than 3 hours to introduce the playbook to Tannehill, and the kid knows the whole playbook.
Well, Joe Philbin said he was shocked (and I am shocked too) because of that.
Since that moment i'm questioning if Ryan Tannehill is a rare kind of genius or the playbook was extracted from some pewee league.
Joe Philbin comments points to the first as the mentioned playbook includes several scenarios, formations and routes.

So with that in mind I was trying to project the 2012 and this is what I found:

Sep 9 - at Houston Texans, Lose, Texans have an impressive offense and Joe Philbin's offensive idea needs time to adjust.
Sep 16 - vs. Oakland Raiders, Win, Matt Moore explodes in air attack to guide an impressive offense that serves to put the first W in Philbin's era.
Sep 23 - vs. NY Jets, Win, Jets crash in Miami in a 100% defensive game, with a new record of sacks in a single game.
Sep 30 - at Arizona Cardinals, Lose, Dolphins find incapable of winning outside Florida as they lose in the final play and Kolb shows he was worth of the big trade.
Oct 7 - at Cincinnati Bengals, Win, Nobody can believe how well both squads played, and Dolphins get an important win on the road.
Oct 14 - vs. St. Louis Rams, Win, Steve Ross talks with players before game asking them to win at all cost, it works well for the team.
Oct 21 - Open
Oct 28 - at NY Jets, Win, A very costly win for Dolphins, as Matt Moore's done for the season. Ryan Tannehill wins this game in a cool way.
Nov 4 - at Indianapolis Colts, Win, Rookie QB Bowl ends with Ryan Tannehill's winning in his 1st start while Andy Luck ends this game with a severe contusion.
Nov 11 - vs. Tennessee Titans, Lose, Ryan Tannehill is incapable of winning his first home after an excellent game plan from Titans.
Nov 15 - at Buffalo Bills, Lose, This game shows Tannehill still needs to learn a lot and the o-line must be adjusted.
Nov 25 - vs. Seattle Seahawks, Win, Matt Flynn visits his former teacher for a new lesson: a solid antidote for him.
Dec 2 - vs. New England Patriots, Lose, Ryan Tannehill makes the best effort to win this game, but special teams fail in a big way.
Dec 9 - at San Francisco 49ers, Lose, Both Smith and Tannehill enjoy of a great game but a tipped pass finishes with comeback.
Dec 16 - vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Win, Chad Henne returns and plays a great game, but fails to win over an inspired Tannehill.
Dec 23 - vs. Buffalo Bills, Win, Close game, but this time Tannehill shows his potential and kills Buffalo's playoff hope.
Dec 30 - at New England Patriots, Lose, Ugly lose under a horrible snow storm in Foxborough.

So I see a nice 9-7 record without playoff on 2012

Ryan Tannehill will be starting the season as QB2 on the depth chart.

He'll beat Garrard and Moore, but Joe Philbin will allow Ryan to learn from the side line until the time is right.
Miami's WCO will be lethal for Bills and Patriots. These defenses are fitted to stop passing game, but a well balanced offense will crush them in ugly ways.
Miami Dolphins will set a new team record of combined yards on a single season.
Dolphins' fans will ask for Ireland's head several times mostly because of a very deficient pass defense.

Matt Moore out for season.

Tannehill STARTING after a handful of games.

Andrew Luck contusion.

Snow storms.

And the word "nice" being applied to another mediocre 9-7 season.

SMH. Terrible.

Hell, it'd be a nice start to Philbin's tenure. According to some, we're only projected to win 3-4 damn games. :rolleyes2:

Schedule is favorable. Not easy...favorable.

Only way we win 3-4 games is if Tannehill starts them all.

He's not ready.

If 9 and 7 is not "nice" what would you call a 3- 4 win season ?

I think 9 and 7 would be great for a new coach , QB and offense.

I don't see it this year but one more draft and a year of seasoning for Tannehill and the offence should put us ready to contend in 2013. Not what everyone wants to hear but it will take time to jell as a team.

9-7 may be acceptable for a new coach...I don't think Tannehill will have anything to do with the record because I don't see him playing this season.

But it's not acceptable for me. They ONLY way 9-7 is acceptable for me is if we win the Super Bowl in the process.

I've suffered long enough. Win the Super Bowl so that I can die in peace. I know it's a process, but I've grown impatient. Just tired of being .500 and that's it.

Irrelevant to the landscape of the NFL. I'm not a Religious man but I'm damn near ready to start praying for better from this team.

A 3 to 4 win season would be a total disaster for a new coach. We've watched guys like McCarthy and Harbaugh step in and win big in their first seasons. I want a coach like that. That gives me hope for the future.

I would be utterly shocked if we went 9-7.

Our draft was great but we lost Marshall and these guys need time to develop. I would be shocked with anything better than 6-10

I hadn't really taken a look at our schedule before.. that's really it? It doesn't get much more favorable than that. Absolute cake.

6-10 wouldn't be a surprise. Nor would 7 or 9 wins.

We don't play very many tough road games.

We only play two (I think) teams with Pro Bowl QBs. Everyone else has average or below average QBs. Indianapolis and Seattle either have a rookie QB starting or a first year QB starting.

Other than New England, San Francisco and maybe the Bengals on the road, there's not much left where you look at the schedule and begin waving the white flag.

I think the biggest thing to watch for is defenses this season. Last year the defenses in the league had to play catch up after the lockout finally ended and camps, OTAs, etc., were cut short. This could pose an issue for Matt Moore. He could easily revert to the old Matt Moore.

Before the schedule came out or the draft the "experts" were predicting we'd win 3-4 games.

This team isn't in the same position as last years 49ers. They had a quality defense nearly built, a quality running game, and top tier TE. We have an alright defense, decent running game, and fair rec/tes. We had holes on both sides of the ball. and still have depth issues.

Add to the mix the niners had the best ball control in the league, great special teams, essentially mistake free field control football and you almost get to the SB. We've got a ways to go. I think 7-9 to 9-7 is the right range for expectations.

To be fair, we havent been the best home team in the league the last few years.

Granted, alot of that is coaching(and our owner insisting on late afternoon games), but we dont know if thats been corrected until the season begins.

Nah, I think our defense is better than you guys realize.

That lockout hurt our defense something awful last season. I think we're somewhere in the 5-10 range as far as overall defense goes.

This defense is what gives us a chance to win 9 games this season. They'll keep us in almost every single game.

Well that's before the schedule came out.
I'm just saying no one is going to give us a chance from the get go...regardless of the schedule. We already knew who we were playing we just didn't know where and when. No one is going to give us any respect until we earn it.
