2012 WR depth chart

I see us becoming a more pass TE oriented team. Alot more double TE sets.

Fasano/Clay/Egnew will play MAJOR roles in this offense, allowing WR's to create space and single man coverages.

I see it,

#1 - Hartline
#2 - Ocho
#3 - Bess (Slot)
#4 - Wallace
#5 - Naanee
#6 - Gates
#7 - Matthews

I see Wallace stepping up (hopefully / Finally!)

I know you all love Hartline and Bess, but Ocho is now the #1 until he proves he can't handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if Hartline and Bess drop down to the 3rd and 4th slots.

Which says a lot about sad the WR corps is.

I agree and we only keep 5 WRs or so I read.

Rishard Matthews the 7th round pick has apparently looked good. He might beat out Gates, Moore, Wallace, Pruitt, Cunningham, Fuller, et al.

Yeah I have high hopes for Matthews as well, but lets wait til the pads go on. Fuller has looked pretty good as well but I doubt he will even make the practice squad.

I don't think last year was a fluke at all. Chad has been declining for years now. IMO and from what the stats say, he's on his last leg. I hope he does something, but I doubt he gives us anything close to his old form.

With that being said, I think Wallace/Naanee will beat him out.

1. Hartline
2. Bess
3. Naanee
4. Wallace
5. Chad

With the apparent news that Gates is struggling at the moment (obviously that could turn around in training camp) I could see him being waived or stashed on PS. This would be my prediction at the 6 receivers we keep.

1 - Hartline
2 - Ocho
3 - Bess
4 - Naanee
5 - Wallace
6 - Matthews

Both Wallace and Matthews will play big roles in special teams, so that's what keeps them valuable at the low end of the receiving corps. Honestly though, I would be perfectly happy with these guys plus Clay, Fasano, Bush and Miller (I don't see Egnew having a big role in the offense this year) catching the ball.

With the addition of the Ocho, what will most likely be WR depth chart this year?

1) Bess
2) Ocho
3) Hartline
4) Nannee
5) Gates
6) Fuller/Moore/Wallace?

I would rather see Bess in the slot, Ocho as a #2... And I guess start with Hartline as #1 then rotate til we find the least disappointing result...

The end result will most likely be no clear cut #1 this year, but what combination gives us the best chance to have a good season?

Who do we keep, who gets cut, and how do they all fit best on our depth chart?

Your thoughts....

Bess isnt going to line up outside as our number one with or without Ocho...

I think a more realistic chart would be

Hartline
Ocho
Bess
Naanee (if he isnt cut due to signing ocho)
fifth and sixth spot is up for grabs but IMO Moore is cut and Pruit will go to the PS for his final year, then will be cut in 2013

It's a wide open competition, and impossible to predict. Only Bess and probably Hartline are locks.

IMO,
OC, Hartline, Bess and Wallace are definites. I doubt Naanee makes it. Shootout between Gates and Matthews, with Matthews the winner, is my guess for the top five. If they keep 6, Gates might squeak in, though Fuller is then in the mix.

Wallace and Matthews have the upper hand when it comes to the 5th spot. Im not sure if we will start to carry 6 or not.
