If you could rewind time would you still sign Mike Wallace to the 60 million dollar contract he got?

Yes, we overpaid. Yes, he underachieved last year, but at the end of the day he adds a dimension to our offense that makes it much more difficult to defend. Take him out of our offense and it has zero playmakers outside of maybe Clay. I really think with Lazor calling the shots now, Wallace is going to have a similar season to D-Jax last year.

If RT learns to hit him in stride, he's easily going for 71/1200/10.... Book it!

Now that there is a bit of hindsight, would you still sign him, or spend the money else where?

i'll wait to see his 2014 performance before i can say whether it was a good or bad decision, there were so many flaws to our Offense it was almost comical at times, GO GO,GO SMDH.

Yeah, it's pretty bad when the fans watching the game on tv know when you're running the ball or passing. I still have no idea why that wasn't addressed.

I think I still would sign Wallace but the 2013 draft again is a different story .

I agree. I would have been much happier with a Eifert and Kiko.... and we could have still used the extra 2 for Albert. Hindsight is 20/20 though. Here's to hoping DJ lives up to his expectations.

All I know for sure is that I am happier he is on our team than not being on it. Is he paid more than what a person of his talent should be? Sure. But the free agent market is what put that price tag on him, and if they wanted to land him, they needed to pay what they did. He actually turned down a much more lucrative offer from the Vikings to come to the Dolphins, so it isn't like Miami outbid themselves.

I think with a new OC, a new offensive scheme and a full year experience with Tannehill is going to produce better results this season for Wallace. I think he is primed for a big year.

He keeps the D two deep as well. Hopefully that helps open up the running game for Miller.

It was a questionable move, as the team did not appear to be ready to make a run in 2013. However, teams need to project what will be available in the next year or two, in FA and the draft, and plan accordingly. In that regard, I think it was a good signing. There was nothing at WR this year, and I believe that the team thought this would be the year to be legit contenders to at least win a playoff game or two. They made the move a year early but, was the best option available, and I think it is gonna work out.

I would still sign Wallace. Do you really think Brandon Albert would have helped that much on a line that gave up 58 sacks. Maybe we only give up 52 then its still an NFL record. We ended up with Albert anyway so it all came out in the wash.

I wouldnt sign Wallace. I would not have traded BM (for scraps) and then would have drafted a field stretcher. I still hold out hope that Wallace can become what we need him to be.

Yeah, if we're using hindsight I would've kept Marshall as well and there wouldn't have been the need to grab Wallace - trading Marshall is the move I hated the most. That said once that was done, they had to make some kind of big move so I can't say I disagree with it even in hindsight. I just hope Tannehill can establish that deep connection with Wallace, if that happens I don't think anybody will be concerned with how much we paid to get Wallace.

Wallace and Jackson are two different animals. The comparisons are apples to oranges.

But Wallace value to this team is bigger than his stand alone stats. He has a total effect on defensive schemes employed against MIA.
Miami still lacks a TE that threatens the seam.

But as I stated in a previous thread, Wallace will be better. But it will be because of a full year of work with his QB.

Too many people are giving a first time offensive coordinator to much credit....for nothing.

In hindsight I think I sign Jennings, Wallace and Gibson and let Hartline walk. I was ok with signing Hartline at the time but now I think Gibson is better for a lot less money.

Wallace did what any reasonable person should have expected, and he was in position to win games for us if Tannehill could just get him the ball.
