I have a feeling with the new cap increase and the rookies we drafted this year along with another killer draft by Hickey next year we take a huge leap. I seriously think we are about to be a true contender. I know we have a few holes but the players have grown this year, and our culture is taken a different path. I hope we get a new coach, Campbell needs to stay regardless just not as head coach. It's coming fellas!! Just 1 more good draft and a few OL 2 LBs and a solid corner.

Kicker - check

Punter - check

QB- check/ Bree's also if possible. I know I'm dreaming.

RB- check even if we lose Miller preferably keep Miller and Ajay

WR- need 1 more solid possession receiver

Center- check - need a good backup for Pouncey.

Tackle- need a solid Tackle to rotate in case Albert goes down again ugh.

Guard- biggest need imo draft a guard in the 2nd or 3rd and sign a veteran FA

TE- Maybe a really good TE and keep Cameron if he would restructure.

CB - need 1 more good corner and another safety keep Grimes and Jones no matter what!

LB- we need a leader MLB. good god what would it take to get Keuckley from the panthers! Here is where I would spend my first round pick if the right player was there. Or if even move up for the right MLB.. This is why our defense is unbalanced.

DT- Check

DE- keep OV bring back Wake under a new contract

PR/KR we must find an explosive returner somehow..maybe the WR/KR/PR best available player undrafted FA.

OC- hire Mike Shula from Carolina like most people want not Head coaching material yet IMO

DC- No idea....

Head Coach- mixed on Payton.. Not sure if he can get it done, when the Saints won their Super Bowl I'm not so sure he was the reason at all.. Bree's was terrific and Williams had a knarley defense also the Katrina thing again IMO... The stars aligned..
wish we could get Williams from Fisher as our DC.

Head Coach is the tricky part again.

Feel free to correct me..

We can't hire Shula for OC if he's under contract to panthers. Only way we get him is if we name him our head coach

Damn!! That I didn't know.. Would you hire him as HC?

I'm def intrigued by Shula as a head coach but I'd rather have McDermott. I think Shula could help with tannehill's issues

He has never been a head coach but his credentials are nice! Not sure who all the candidates are out there. I'm gonna dig in more on this guy thanks.. Here is a decent read..

McDermott originally joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 1998 as a scouting administrative coordinator, a position he held until being promoted to assistant to the head coach in 1999. He then became defensive quality control coach and later assistant defensive backs coach. In 2003 he replaced Steve Spagnuolo as defensive backs coach, as Spagnuolo was assigned linebackers coach. In 2004, McDermott saw both of his starting safeties (Brian Dawkins and Michael Lewis) earn Pro Bowl berths for the first time in team history. Under McDermott's watch, Dawkins went on to earn two more Pro Bowl berths following the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

In 2007, McDermott was assigned linebackers coach, after Spagnuolo had left to take the defensive coordinator job for the New York Giants. On January 28, 2008, Eagles head coach Andy Reid named McDermott secondary coach again.

On May 18, 2009, McDermott was named the interim defensive coordinator as a result of defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's medical leave of absence. On July 24, 2009, due to the continuing decline of Johnson, the Eagles announced McDermott would take over as full-time defensive coordinator. Johnson died on July 28, 2009. McDermott implemented a variety of blitzes in his defense, thanks in part to his mentor, former Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson.

McDermott was fired as the defensive coordinator on January 15, 2011.[2]

Carolina Panthers Edit
McDermott was hired as the defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers on January 17, 2011.

the last 2 years the top 3 round picks have been pretty solid under whoever is making them...it's the lack of resources into dire holes that someone should walk the plank for

but it's hard for me to argue with a james, landry, turner and a parker Phillips 2014 and 2015 top of draft

Probably right on this.......what do you think the timing is? Immediately after the season?

My hunch is right after the season, but I understand about him being kept through the draft. I could see them elevating Chris Grier to the GM post.

With the possibility of replacing Miller, Vernon , Matthews, Cameron and Grimes along with the glaring holes at cb,lb and guard, it's going to be a tall task ahead for the new staff. We also need to start thinking about Pouncey's replacement, health is going to be a concern for him going forward. Depth is void in many areas. This is why we need to hire a head coach with head coaching experience, can't afford to get another coach who has training wheels with this roster.

No more on the job training.

I just can't get hyped about this team anymore; I come into every season with a positive prospective and this year I thought we had finally put together a competitive team. I'll believe it when I see it, but no longer can I get excited about FAs or draft picks when the team has this much talent and can't string together a winning season. I'm glad you have a positive outlook on everything and I hope you are right. Personally, I think Shula will be getting a head coaching position and I wouldn't mind it being in Miami. However, it may be too much pressure in the shadow of his father.

I think our talent was always overrated esp when you have people starting that should barely be on nfl rosters
