What if we do the following -

Cut Grimes and use the savings to sign a CB like Janoris Jenkins
Cut Jordan Cameron and use the savings to sign S Eric Berry
Restructure or Cut Wake and use the money to sign Lamar Miller
Use the $8m we have from 2015 rollover and sign Vernon
Use the increase in cap for 2016 (~10m) to sign LB Treviathan

Then we go BPA LB or CB in Round 1 and Pick up a Guard in Round 2

Perhaps that's oversimplifying things and not sure if the math works as it relates to the cap, but seems plausible.
 
I'm on board but I want to go D with the first 3 picks in the draft.

You need another tight end and agree that we need go defense in the draft. If Grimes is released you need 2 corners at least also.

We cant fix it all in the offseason unfortuntely.

Hasn't been much conversation about the tight end position other than Cameron has been disappointing. Definitely a consideration in the draft if there is a playmaker available.
 
Iam for 1st 2 picks D 3rd pick o-line.Yes we badly need D and o-line also.
 
The Giants game proved to us what we need to do:

---Grimes needs to take a major paycut, or be cut. Grimes would be a fine #2 CB, but our first pick needs to be the best CB in college football if we are in the right pick.
---Cut Delmas, bring in a healthier Safety opposite of Jones via FA.
---Bring in a top LB to be our MLB. Dont draft MLB, we need a veteran here.
---OL: Thomas needs to take a cut and stay as a backup. James is our RT, so I cant hate on Fox since he's just a backup anyway. We can draft an OG in the 2nd round.
---TE? Cameron makes some good catches, and Sims can block. Utilize them for what they do well, do not throw to Sims lol.
---RB? Re-sign Miller.
---DL? Re-sign Vernon, tell Wake to take a pay cut or leave.
---LB? Misi is fine, like I wrote above we just need an elite MLB.

- cut Sam Brenner
- sign Jacques McClendon
- cut Jacques McClendon
- sign Sam Brenner
- trade Sam Brenner to whoever Jacques McClendon just signed with for Jacques McClendon
- then trade our no 7 for Sam Brenner
- cut both Sam Brenner and Jacques McClendon

Super Bowl formula right there.

And resign Jamar Fletcher to pair up with Jamar Taylor.

Didn't we already do all of that this year? I have to laugh otherwise I'll cry...or smash something!

I think a lot of the issues with Cameron has been scheme fit, TBH...
