Well, I think that's your season.

- 4th and a foot early in the game. Texans do not have the line of scrimmage loaded up with bodies. Quarterback sneak? Handoff to Frank Gore? Nah, pass in the flat. Don't like that call. 3rd and 6? Hand the ball off. I want to scream, sometimes.

- Mike Gesicki runs his route just short of the sticks on 3rd and real short... and elects to run sideways instead of cutting up-field after he catches the ball. Result: Punt. Get the sticks, kiddo.

- The defensive scheme is bad. I get that we don't have the greatest defensive corps out there, but the scheme is bad. Guys constantly out of position, confused, don't know what to do... that's a recurring problem and I have to put that on coaching.

- Matt Burke is currently sitting in the dark somewhere mumbling about 'run fits' like Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now. Enough, man. Enough. What the Dolphins are doing defensively isn't working.

- I had to laugh when Joe Buck said that during the conference call, Matt Burke just wanted to talk about baseball. Yeah, I'll bet he did.

- Deshaun Watson had 5 touchdowns on 19 pass attempts at one point. That's horrible. That's worse than the 4 goals Mike Hutchinson allowed on 18 shots in goal the other night for the Florida Panthers. Hutchinson was pulled after goal number four and demoted back to the bench. Will the Dolphins similarly hold anyone accountable after tonight?

- Brock Osweiler's interception at the start of the second half should have been called back on illegal contact. Yes, the throw was way too high and way too hot, but Amendola was obviously grabbed and spun half-around on his route.

- Osweiler wasn't good tonight. I didn't think he was atrocious, but he wasn't good. With that said, the offense did put some points on the board and move the football. The defense was completely impotent and that is why Miami was blown out in this game.

- This officiating crew SUCKED, and Miami absolutely benefited from that early in the game on that first scoring drive after a very questionable "hitting the long snapper" call. And then the Dolphins suffered from it on the aforementioned interception.

- I know we all tend to complain about officiating a lot, but I do think it's a real problem for the National Football League. Games are called inconsistently from one crew to the next, obvious calls are missed, while extremely questionable or even phantom things are called at other times. The NFL just this week fired an official for missing a key call in the Chargers/Browns (?) game, and it turns out that the guy actually just had a really lousy record and this was the last straw. Really? How about just getting rid of the lousy guys for being lousy before they screw up a game-changing call?

Sorry, rant over. But okay, one more thought on the penalties: What was the point of the illegal formation penalty call at the end of the half? Come on, dude. Just hold on to your laundry.

- I hated Danny Amendola when he was with the Patriots. I like him now. Can he scheme defense?

- Thursday night road games suck. Weird how the Patriots pretty much never have to play them? :ponder:

And that's all, folks. Good night.

Fire all the front office and the coaches and trade anyone with a large contract.

That's a start

My take: you have 10 days until the next game. You have to fire Burke now to send a message. His defense has given up a thousand yards and way too many points in the last 3 games and his unit has not been hit with the injury bug like the offense. This team would be so much more competitive with a real defensive coordinator.

I’d like to add that if you start the game with an illegal formation of your kick return team, the entire coaching staff needs to go.

Yeah, Osweiler was competent tonight, but he wasn't good. He missed big plays and gave up on too many plays. We settled for field goals on way too many drives because he gave up on third downs after being driven from the pocket.

The defense has be porous all year. First few games they came up with timely TOs to mitigate the ugliness. Last few games, no TOs. It exposes that they dont stop the run, dont rush the passer, dont cover well, dont tackle well...dont really do anything well that involves football.

The Pats philosophy on D is to take away your biggest threat and see if your other guys can beat them. I think it's a bold change of pace to try to stop absolutely no one and see if it confuses the offense into melting down. Bold!

Lack of decipline is killing this team which reflects directly on coaching. Gase needs to go on one of his annual sabaticals and figure out how to be a head coach and fix this. I thought bringing in his new assistant coaches might fix this. Obviously the new DB assistant coach is in over his head too. Now I understand why Tank has regressed the prior db coach was a huge loss for us.
