Well, that was almost a football game.

- Maybe it's because I have a terrible sinus headache and can barely think straight, but I really didn't find much to take away from this game, either good or bad. It was just a crappy, meaningless football game in which one team didn't even bother to play many of its starters. but still won by 17 points.

- Our first team offense had a marginal performance against a mix of (mostly) Ravens starters and a few backups.

- The second team and third team offense were sort of lousy.

- I would have liked to see Mike Gesciki have a chance to go up for a ball in the end zone, but unfortunately it appears that illegal contact / defensive pass interference was not being called tonight.

- Our first team defense looked, uh, well, they looked like our first team defense against the Ravens' backups. Minkah Fitzpatrick already looks like he might be our best defender. Robert Quinn did look good, too.

- Once again, the depth at the team's depth at linebacker is, uh, concerning.

- Special teams played pretty well.

- On both sides of the ball I have seen a lot of miscommunications, players pointing fingers, and general sloppiness which concerns me. Adam Gase overhauled his coaching staff because he wanted things taught better and/or differently, but so far I'm seeing no evidence of that at all.

Looking forward to September 9th, but I anticipate a slow start for this team based on what I saw tonight. Tennessee is tough at the line of scrimmage, so these boys had better pick it up in a hurry.

if Gase’s true goal was to show absolutely nothing and lul the titans into a false sense of security, then mission accomplished! However did this “show nothing” offense/defense realty look that much different than what we’ve witnessed the past 2 years??? Also even if he does change everything, do we have the talent and ability to just snap our fingers and dial it up several notches???

I’m usually positive at start of year but this year I see 4-12 or 5-11. Offense looks weak, defense played well in first half but i have no confidence in them on 3rd downs or when they play a running QB. No superstars on the team. May get ugly his year.

Miami Dolphins LOL

The only thing they really need badly is the Benny Hill Theme Song running on a constant loop in the stadium.....seriously....

Gase another LOL....figure 2 decades of this stuff and we'd should have a clue................. guess not

Team looks sloppy, and I don't see how one could chalk that up to just pre-season. I'm remaining hopefully for 10-6 but the 1st 4 games need to be a complete 180 compared to what we've seen so far.

If we do bomb this year and start over AGAIN well with the advancements in medicine and me being 32 I could definitely live long enough to see us get this team right one day and win a super bowl.

The terrestrial feed I watched (in a different zip code I'm sure) = 1st team O was abysmal for the most part. Or maybe

"inept." I said "generously" C- at the half. Or something like that.

Especially Thill. Lookin' mechanical + slow + ZERO attacking down the field.

But of course we didn't show our best stuff

which is precisely why Hairball kept his #1s in street clothes.

Seriously. The 1st team O was (at times comical and at other times) very disappointing.

My opinion. Of course.

Dude you are my favorite poster here. Not a know it all, not pretentious not a jerk we all appreciate ya

Thanks. I mostly just posted this tonight because I like having a post game discussion thread and they guilt tripped me into starting them last season. I feel like I got hit between the eyes with a sledgehammer and for once after a game, I can't blame the Dolphins for that.

I don't fault anyone for being down on the team right now. They have shown us nothing to feel good about this pre-season, except that our first round draft pick looks like he's gonna be real good.

The preseason.

Means.

Nothing.

It does when starters and key backups still make mental errors, blow assignments, and aren’t where there supposed to be.

It does when you still come out looking flat.

It does when you still struggle against mobile qbs like you have for a long, long time.

Sorry but enough excuses. This team has personnel, discipline, and scheme (both on offense AND defense) issues!

Damn, I looked at their schedule again. I have to agree. I think 4-12 or 5-11 is pretty accurate.

No it doesn’t.

The preseason means nothing.

Or did you want to have a conversation about how a team that hasn’t won a game since the Obama administration just beat the Super Bowl Champs a couple days ago?

You’re right if you mean the final score and win/loss record. However We have looked every bit as sloppy as we have for Gase’s entire tenure. His play calling wasn’t all that dissimilar as some would want us to believe. The players still looked disinterested and disorganized. I just don’t see how if you play like this in the preseason, how are you going to suddenly turn things around when it matters?
