Read the comments below the story and one in particular grabbed my attention
From a Browns fan talking about them
Then in the draft the only real positions to fill would be LB and S, both of which you probably don’t address with your first pick (10).
I’d suggest trading down with the Dolphins.
Swap picks 10, 41 for picks 18, 26 and 141.
Dolphins would get 2 picks in the top 10 and 3 picks in the second round. This means they get Tua or Herbert and address their o line. Then with the seconds can fill out the roster.
I'm thinking this has some merit as with 10 you grab a very good OT, while 3 2nds 39, 41 and 70 still gives the opportunity to look for good edge, S and RB or even another OL. In case you wondering we get 1790 points they get only 1635.
Others thoughts?
If I had to guess, this is the year they eat big money from all of Brady's restructuresInteresting that with all the talk of the Patriots being cheap, they have only $1.2M cap space remaining.
$15-18mm for rookies. A little for carryover. Should be done unless more cuts are coming.
Yes our draft class will cost 18,000,000 but remember that 750,000 per player comes off as for every player we sign that makes the top 51 than 750,000 comes back to us as they are dropped. So in reality if we sign all 14 picks it effects about 9,000,000 in cap space
1.5 5.42 mill
1.18 2.44 mill
1.26 2.22 mill
2.7 1.45 mill
2.24 1.02 mill
3.6 .88 mill
every other draft pick is less than 750,000 cut off. So all those amounts add up to 13,430,000 - 4,5000,000 and the cap hit will be pretty close to 8,930,000

If they needed to do something they still have Wilson.Plus about $10mm Miami likely keeps for just-in-case. Still not much left.
