Slimm I'm not sure if you've listed Georgia DE Travon Walker. I ask because I'm curious as to your thoughts on him. I just saw a mock draft that has Miami Selecting him in the late 1st round with the pick it got from San Francisco.

Well, 1st round is quite a projection to be sure - he's basically just been a backup and a rotational player at Georgia and didn't play many early downs - but it's possible if he has a breakout Junior year.

If you saw UGA's spring game this year, it looks like he'll get more opportunities to play outside and rush the passer more. He's certainly a kid to keep an eye on this season in terms of underclassman because he was such a highly recruited 5-star coming out of high school and has flashed ability in games. You'll know within the first 6 weeks of the season whether he's on his way to being drafted in the 1st round or not.

Slimm what are your thoughts on Isaiah Thomas, DE - Oklahoma? Seems like a player?

Oddball mention but I saw Malone from W KY play. He caught my eye off the edge at 6’4 240 (according to the broadcast). He’s very twitchy and knows how to rush. I would be interested in him on day 3. His size may be an issue. I mainly saw him rushing. I don’t know if he can play in space, dropping back, etc. That’d be a projection. Interesting situational pass rusher though.

I like where you have Sam Williams, and I think he's pretty underrated. Does get too high at times, but he uses his hands pretty well for a guy with his physical tools. Neal got him most of the game, but he made him work for it, and Williams got him maybe 2-4 times iirc. Seeing his projection around 70, but I doubt there are 40 prospects I'd draft ahead of him.

Think his time in closer techniques will benefit him, but I'd want him rushing 6--9 to take advantage of his burst, speed, and change of direction. Feels like a guy people will look back on and say, "Oh yeah, that 6'3 260 LB Edge that runs 4.45-4.52 and jumps 40" and was a really productive pass rusher in the SEC probably should have went earlier than the 3rd Round."

Sam Williams really got Charles Cross in their matchup. He kept beating Cross to the inside.

If Williams falls too far it’ll be because of off field issues. Talent wise he’s as good as anybody in the class.
