2022 Top 100

Thing is, when a freak prospect comes along — it causes teams to overdraft due to FOMO.

Granted, it seems Da Ray-Dahs suffered from it more than others over the decades, but I still believe someone will draft Araiza way too high.

If he doesn’t go before 102, MIA will likely have to draft him at 102 to get him. Which I bet the vast majority here is against. And for good reason.
I've seen him listed as a top 100 player by some draft sites. So, yeah I think you're right.

I would not draft a punter that high even if the team needed one.

5th round would be the earliest I would consider kickers and punters.

But Araiza is going to be interesting to watch in the Draft and on the field.

Jones, the corner from Houston, is a player to watch for Miami IMO. Pretty impressive in the slot, which is an area the Dolphins could target.

Interesting, too, that Miami didn't bring back Coleman. Virtually everyone else on the defense returns.

I could never see drafting a punter before the seventh round. I think that's crazy.

Although it was intended for this to be my last year providing positional draft rankings, I’m around 85% complete with my 2023 pre-season draft rankings that are intended for elsewhere.

However, I’ll go ahead and put ‘em here after the draft for everyone since Miami currently owns two 1st round picks next year and traded away a lot of their early 2022 draft capital.

A couple have a chance to be Hall of Famers based off early impressions.

I’ve enjoyed bringing this to you for nearly a decade and a half.

Ol’ Slimm is going to ride with you boys one last time. You can thank Mayor Grier.

🍻🍻🍻 appreciate you, Slimm 🙏 not in the business of telling people what to do, especially people I respect, but I'm hoping you continue to pop in from time.

Yass! Well this has now officially been Grier's best off-season by far. Cheers to you Slimm 🍻

Is there a different site that you will be posting them to?

Slimm, admire your work from afar for years. Thanks for the work.

If you’ll be putting your work elsewhere, I’d be interested in where so I can follow.

Follow-up question: what have you thought about the off-season to this point for Miami?

Have you posted your thoughts elsewhere?

I am going to miss his lists and his opinions but I will miss his gentle, sweet disposition most of all..................................................

Clue where you might be posting next year?

Kinda wild given all the hype, but of the Top Safeties, Hamilton has the murkiest projection. Cine, Hill, Pitre, and Brisker require far less imagination.

For people particularly high on Hamilton (some still view him as the best player in the class), I'd ask, 1) what are his special traits? 2) how does his size help him in the NFL? He's not a particularly valuable box Safety, because he can't lock-down in man coverage, doesn't knife through gaps, or blitz particularly well. So, if the plan is to play him deep, obv the length helps some on contested balls, but how much is that worth big picture? He's not going to be a Earl Thomas or Ed Reed, and he's not going to be a Honey Badger or Derwin James.
