2025 Miami Dolphins - Run first team?

What do you gusy think Miami will focus on this season? I have to think Miami will be a run first team and establish the run early, then pass those killer accurate throws from Tua to Waddle or Hill or the #3 option? The biggest challenge I see there? is MCDUMMY not staying disciplined if the run keeps working. Regarldes we need a coach who can jsut be logical in play calling.
I dony think McD has a "pass first" philosophy per se. I think last year he just had zero confidence in their ability to run consistently. I mean he stuck with it even when it wasn't working.

Sure, he didn't really even try in "and short" situations. Why would he?

McD isn’t run first or pass first. He calls plays against the defensive alignment.

That’s also why the offense struggles when down and distance dictates the play call.

What is his weight now?
It looked in rookie camp that he was leaner than his playing weight last year

Not rocket science to realize why he was not effective last year relative to the year before, keep trying to tell folks

I agree, terrible thing for a coach to say....sounds like a coach who doesn't care about accountability.
He might have been referring to driving after one or two drinks, which is something millions of people do daily. Never read that he was driving around bombed and I'm sure that's not what the coach was referring to. Either way I'll take one dubious alcohol incident over even a whiff of sex/violence stuff or financial misdeeds.

I agree, Miami need to run that rock so that the play action will be lethal, keep Tua doing what he does, everyone wants long passes but lots of shorter passes will minimize the interception and keep our defense rested

dumb question
but he isn't like kallen ballage? Correct? Runs upright and has build and speed but sucks. That was worst back we had in a while. I assume they are totally different.
Ollie reads and follows blocks. With Ballage, it was usually just pure luck when he saw the daylight and hit it. It is actually a poor comparison.

No I wasn’t saying he was.
said he isn’t like ballage right? Only reason I asked is because they both run upright it seemed. But I could be wrong about that too.

Think more like Derrick Henry with less speed. I think he's that kind if a back. He won't pull away for those big gains like Henry, but in terms of power and running style there are similarities. Gordon can also block, which means he could be on the field a lot on third downs

So, his being in the backfield will not necessarily telegraph a running play. - LOL

He got arrested summer of 2024, gained bad weight, and also had less team talent from previous season when he won Doak Campbell award. In 2023 he was around 210 pounds, in 2024 he was near 235 pounds, and was lackluster compared to the season before.

Which back are we getting? That's the question really. As a 6th round pick it's no big deal...but...if we get a motivated guy like 2023....look out!!
Hopefully, he will arrive as a motivated new player to the NFL who will have learned from last years "mistakes" and start a new and "eye-opening" career as a Dolphin.

Hey, a guy can hope. - LOL
