2025 NFL Redraft - Grey Zabel To The Dolphins

Zabel would’ve been good with me. Maybe go with one of the TEs (mason taylor?) instead with our second pick

Jihad or Warren should of been the pick
It's happened a few times where the player I wanted most for Miami in the 1st round went the next pick, or a few picks later. Warren was that player last year. Wilfork when Miami took Carey, Matthews when the Dolphins drafted Davis, Watt instead of Harris.

I never read anyone's post history including my own

Pretty sure I predicted Grant at 13 in early Feb. Such an obvious Grier pick. Hope it still works out for Grant

Feels like I was on board with Warren, Egbuka, Starks and leaned into Emmanwori

I’d take James Pearce in that redraft scenario because Chubb is getting old and may be a cap casualty, and Chop flat out sucks. Zabel is a very good player but I’m taking the edge rusher who had 10.5 sacks as a rook over the guard. If you have a solid scouting department you should be able to find value with IOL on day 2.

Would probably go with Starks, Emmanwori, Warren, and Barron over Zabel too. I’m just not big on taking IOL that high unless we’re talking Quentin Nelson.

Id call chop a bust. That was a horrific 2nd season. Across the board.

Two stepped with every tackle he saw. Lost snaps to a corpse in judon.

But I will say the wide 9 probably does help chop get more snaps. God knows he’s awful against the run anyways. And a joke of a situational rusher.
jonah is probably about a 10% chance of being mediocre at best at this point too

Shameful but here we are. There is a laundry list of players I could regurgitate since I really started following the team somewhere around early 2000s.
Warren was my guy last year it was so obvious that it was never going to happen though, Graham Banks and Membou were gone, those were the others I wanted with our pick.
21’ was a crusher. My wife was full blown laughing at me when I was hysterically slapping the columns in our living room when they took waddle over Sewell, that stung. Phillips I was on board with loved the player.
2020 I won’t go in to specifics on the 5th choice. At 18 when the commish smirked and said help for Tua I gagged, I wanted Jefferson. Iggy over Johnathan Taylor another vomit induced moment when we clearly needed a workhorse RB.
In 2005 I was 14 years old. My dad and I woke up at 3 am to drive into NYC from NJ to attend the draft at the Javits Center. I remember the entire ride and waiting time before the draft started I kept telling him Dad were gonna draft Rodgers if he doesn’t go #1 and he’s gonna be everything we wanted will win the Super Bowl. When Smith went #1 I was in a frenzy more pumped than my 14 year old self was then the year I got Nintendo 64 for Christmas. Then the commish walked to the podium, took a pause and announced we had taken Ronnie Brown from Auburn. That was the first time I realized when it’s so obvious of who the player should be the Dolphins pivot and do something entirely different.

I don’t think folks realize how good a player grey Zabel is. But yall fixing to find out in the next few years.

The only real weakness on that hawks oline is the right guard Bradford. The center could be upgraded but Bradfords the weak link.

Pearce did produce at a high clip as a situational rusher. Much more productive with it than chop was that’s for sure.

agree re seahawks. rg blows, and center is weak. pats good interior DL. this is one matchup advantage for them.

that sounds like an excuse for a really bad draft to me!
Yeah, well that too. ;-)

Hopefully some of these factors apply and we eventually look back at this as a productive draft. Especially for me, as I was HIGH on Grant, Jonah, Phillips, and Gordon. While it's reasonable to be disappointed in the short-term returns, the picture is still developing.
