I just saw on espn news that we are 21.9 million over the the cap. 2nd highest behind the raiders. What happened to being 8 million over.

oh well if this is true, we are truly fu***d, we just released D-Mac, Tebucky Jones, Sam Madison and Reggie Howard and thats about 14 million, we need 8 million more just to get under the cap, sheesh....we need a hell of a draft and i don´t see no way, how in the world we can get drew brees over here

also espn changes our cap number daily it seems if you look throught the threads u will see that

that is wrong

Yep. Clumpy and Cole from the Herald both agree that we were close to 10 million over the cap, not 21.9 over. I believe now with the cuts we should be close to 2 million under right now.

I dont get why our cap number keeps changing. Even before the end of the year ESPN and NFL Network kept saying what great shape we were in going into next season. I know there are guys to cut and restructure but 22 million over is alot of restructuring and cutting.

So we are 8 million over after 4 cuts. Restructure Thomas and JT. Probably save 4 million there. That leaves 4 million. Gus can get cut. That is just under. Seau retires/cut, save another 2 million. But that is only 2.5 million of cap space to sign a QB, and our draft picks. Something is wrong here.

Why doesn't the league just have an official record open to the public? Nobody ever seems to know what the situation is.

Maybe the change in our cap had something to do with the entire player bonuses being tied into us having a winning season. I think it was either on NFL Network or ESPN and you could check the thread with Boomer and CK answering questions as their was confusion of wether we would end up saving like 10 million or paying out 10million in bonuses???

Here's that info I was mentioning above:
Boomer, can you explain if this is good or bad for the Phins?

From John Clayton:

The Dolphins tabulated all the incentive bonuses that kicked in from their nine win season in 2005 and found out they will have a little less than $10 million removed from this year's cap. The Dolphins structured a lot of their incentives to a winning season. Nick Saban got hot at the end of the season and finished at 9-7.

No one knows what incentives were in the contracts. If players hit them your cap is screwed.

The Vikings and Eagles are pros at this. They put crazy incentives in contracts that they know players wont reach and when they dont, they get cap relief, but if they do hit them, they are in trouble.

Cap estimates are just that, estimates because no one can calculate these incentives.

Last year I thought the Bills had around 15 million in room and all of a sudden Clayton reported we had hundreds of thousands, and Clayton was right.

NFL network says your 22 million over, so there were definatley some incentives hit that screwed you guys.

In Saban you trust.

i dont think this year is ours for the sb because of our cap:shakeno:

That is not wrong just saw it again from Adam Schefter on total acess. WE'RE SCREWED. Somebody up there was trying to make it look to everybody like they knew what they were doing.
