If you could pick 25 players regardless of where they will be drafted, who do you want Miami to draft? This is something Belichick does that he stole from Jimmy Johnson.

25...wow...i havent gotten far enough on tape for that yet...but i will after i do...guys i think should be targets on miamis board

Should probably draft an OG or two as well, but unlike Omar, I don't watch line play.

If Miami were to get two players off this list I'd be thrilled.

my list is gonna look a little different cause i'm not gonna name guys that i think aren't fits for us even if i like them...like a shane ray whos edge rush i really like or a beasley who's edge rush i like but i view as 34 olbs...and it will take into account what miami has already in some regards...but i like this

i will put my primary targets in bold...i've got some already but not 25 cause again i'm not going by top players overall but actual fits for miami and what i think they should go get...just the way i always do things...i dont really care about who the bpas are for everyone else just miami

That's the highest I've seen Carl Davis. I like him a little bit. I had him #48. I came away wanting a little bit more from him in the run game.

Jake Fisher I've been pounding the table for him for quite some time. Big fan.

Really like what Erving brings to the table at the pivot, did not like his left tackle film but in a pinch, he's a 5 for 1.

I honestly missed Shaq Riddick the first time.

How much do metrics for athleticism factor into your evaluations?

Maybe better task is to name 21 players, limiting yourself to 3 per round...as ranked by some third party source like CBS Sports (NFL Draft Scout).

Otherwise you're just basically naming a Top 25. Which I suppose is alright too.

I have Davis as the best guy that I saw against double teams and as the best frame/athlete in the draft at DT. If he goes to a team that plays him as a 3, he'll be one of my favorites to win DROTY. If he goes to a team that plays him at the 1, he won't put up the numbers, but he'll be a force. Feel his disruption at Iowa is underrated, because he doesn't have the numbers that back it up.

I only have one knock on Fisher - not especially powerful. Beyond that, I think he's a clean player.

I think that's it with Erving. Didn't play great at OT this year, but I think he has the power and tools to play any position - as you say - in a pinch. At C or OG, I think he has a high ceiling. Great athlete, and the versatility is a big plus.

Riddick looks like a guy who is being underrated (to me), because he was an undersized 5-tech at WVU. I actually love that he got the experience as a 5. For a guy so undersized, he held his own really well. When you kick out to 4-3 DE or SLB or 3-4 OLB, his experience at the 5, should make setting the edge a relatively easy task (obviously, the step up in competition won't make it as easy). But he has high-end tools.

I use athletic metrics to frame players. It's helpful for defining best-case/worst-case scenarios for players. I look at a given player's play on the field, compare NFL guys I view as good athletic comps, and I try to define what makes the players similar/different. I am a believer in drafting players with top-end physical tools. There are enough players in the draft that I very rarely think it's a good idea to deviate from high-end athletes. Jarvis Landry is an example of a player I loved, despite his poor athletic metrics. I did, though, drop Landry from the late 1st to the mid/late 2nd, because of his tests, and I think he's played like the really good 2nd round player that I expected him to be. That's a general rundown of how I use athletic metrics.
