And you line drive it. Zero air on that kick at all. Defender barely got up.

Regardless of Tunsil, terrible kick by Franks. And, with the Stills drop, the most decisive scapegoat for the loss.

The Dolphins shooting themselves in the foot has been an issue for years. Gase has got to get the mental side of the team fixed.

Andrew Franks makes me very nervous. He didn't have enough kicking opportunities last year so we don't really know how good/bad he can be under pressure.

That FG today was terrible, and he did something similar in the preseason.

When you have a losing culture, it's like there are football gods doing it on purpose. Meanwhile winning teams seem to make 60 yard FGs without problem, especially against us.

Hit the nail on the head. Dropped pass, missed assignment, DB slip and fall, botched snap, low kick, etc. etc.

Some guys are just consistent failures, like #63. You root for them to get better, but you know they just need to be taken out of the equation. But when your whole team is just consistently finding ways to screw the pooch -- and it's always someone different -- well, that's organizational dysfunction right there.

I don't know how we fix that. I guess if Gase is a good coach and he keeps plugging away, eventually it'll sort itself out. But there ain't going to be a quick fix, I know that.

Just the way things go as usual. The Dolphins can't make a chip shot FG that would have won them the game.

While a team playing the Patriots can't make a field goal handing the Patriots a game

The Dolphins already suffering from attrition on the D-line, will probably be without their top WR again next week, while the Patriots will be getting their best weapon on offense back. Groundhogs day once again with the Patriots itching to prove why they have won the AFC East 13 out of the last 15 seasons. Next week is going to be ugly, most likely reminiscent of last seasons Thursday night game.

The NFL has become an immensely boring league to follow unless you are a fan of the Patriots or a handfull of other teams.

When you have a losing culture, it haunts the team. Everyone knows Miami hasn't been good for a long time, especially people who have been here for a long time. The players believe in themselves and in the team, but in the back of their minds is all the memories of failure and the "here we go" mentality pops up. And it's really hard to overcome. Plus at some point a player just can't handle it. The way to change it is to win a game like today which can spark the franchise. Players start to believe in the system. We haven't really had that marquee win in quite a while. Plus it requires consistent winning. Instead of winning a big game and then losing to a bad team for example.

So overall, it's a mental thing that haunts the team.

We got Wilson to where he couldnt run and we didnt blitz him at all at the end?

Ross has given him a time table to make the playoffs in 4 years. Seems reasonable to me, unfortunately most people want instant gratification which is odd because most people saw this as a rebuild/throw away year with the whole complete change of staff/key(or former) players leaving.

4 years for the playoffs is bogus. I don't buy that crap at all. A couple of years ago when I was compiling information on coaches, quarterbacks, and the correlation between those combinations and winning football games, I discovered something pretty interesting:

Super Bowl winning head coaches tend to make it to the playoffs by year two. Even head coaches who inherit awful teams and have really bad starts (like Parcells) will almost always get the team to the playoffs in year two.

Just something to think about.

Or call a qb sneak on 4th and inches or kick the FG on a tough d on the road, or bench scummy players kneeling for the national anthem in 9/11, or not start buns like stills....the team is still bull**** and this coach is overrated as an offensive guru.

Agreed. We were doing zone coverage and Baldwin would just find an island to sit and get the first downs. Blitz him, we were doing well while we blitzed.

I never cared for Franks, but Dolphins kickers have always made me nervous lol. Even Olindo Mare, who was actually pretty good, made me nervous. Is Robbie Gould still an FA?
