I totally botched this post at first, so we'll only look at 2nd round QBs and not include the 1st rounders....

So for starters, so people know my opinion; I'll be happy with whatever Philbin and Sherman decide to do in regard to Tannehill. I can see his upside, but I can see other's points as to why we should pass on him. I guess you could say I'm indifferent. But for those who want to spend another pick in the 2nd round on a QB, I wanted to point out an interesting stat I read from rotoworld about 2nd round QBs

The past 21 drafts, there have been 23 second round QBs drafted. Only Favre and Brees have won a Super Bowl, and only 4 (Jake Plummer and Kordell Stewart the other 2) have even won a playoff game.

I feel that they have a lower percentage of success in regard to where they've been drafted because there are so many IF factors. Where most 1st rounders tend to be more complete prospects (until recent history), 2nd round QBs have some great attributes or skill sets, but have a thing or 2 holding them back from being considered a top/complete prospect. That's just my opinion. Curious what you guys think.

You're missing a key stat... you only counted QBs taken first overall, not QBs taken in the first round. What about Big Ben?

Shoot!!!!, you're right. Sorry guys. I got way ahead of myself. I was discussing both 2nd round qbs and also qbs taken 1st overall in 2 different conversations. I'm going to try and fix this somehow.

Aikman was drafted #1 overall in 1989... he won 3 superbowls...

But the stats should be 1st rounder QB's not #1 overall... seeing as how we don't own the #1 over all pick

Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers and Trent Dilfer are the 3 that come to mind.

Yea man. Sorry. I totally screwed the pooch on this post originally and I can't change the Thread title. I changed it to just 2nd round QBs.

Big Ben and Aaron Rogers are the other two missing. Plus, if you go back to 1989, then add Troy Aikman and his 3 rings to that list. Nice post still!

Edit: I forgot Dilfer also.

Thanks. I'm disppointed I didn't read what I was posting at first. I was looking at QBs STRICTLY taken 1st overall when I meant to talk about all 1st rounders. A long boring day at work has apparently fried my brain. I rewrote it above to talk strictly about 2nd round QBs.
