A lot of talk about the first round, but I started looking at players who might be available in round 2. I think round 2 will have a lot of talent. Here's a list.
Jaelen Strong WR --- I don't buy the top 20, but I think Strong could be an early second rounder. Can he make it to #47? If so that would be a nice pick for Miami.
Dorial Green-Beckham WR -- He could go anywhere and it will be interesting to see what round. I think the fact that he hasn't played football for a year moves him into the second round. Would Miami take the risk?
Phillip Dorsett WR --- If the Dolphins retain Mike Wallace, I see the team looking for a bigger receiver. If Wallace is gone, however, Dorsett would make a lot of sense at #47. It's possible he goes a lot higher, especially if he runs a 4.2 something at the combine.
Tevin Coleman RB -- Honestly, after Gurley this is the player I want at running back. I think he goes very early R2. I like the scenario of Maxx Williams R1 and Coleman R2. That would jumpstart the offense!
Duke Johnson RB --- Absolutely love Johnson, but he's not the big complementary back that the Dolphins are looking for. Still, he is one of the more explosive players in the entire draft.
Jay Ajayi RB -- The comparisons to Marshawn Lynch are off base IMO, but he is a big back who can do it all.
Ronald Darby CB --- A run on corner could start pretty early, maybe the end of round 1. Darby could make it to #47.
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu CB --- I read an article recently that indicated IEO could possible play safety. He is an interesting player and I love his talent. See him as someone who could match up with the Patriots quick slot guys. But maybe he can play safety? He's about the size of Earl Thomas.
Kevin Johnson CB -- I think he ends up going late first round so may be hopeful to include here.
Clive Walford TE -- Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder. I'm not quite as high on him as others.
Jake Fisher OT --- A little too finese for my taste, but he has experience in a fast-paced offense and is a good pass blocker.
Cedric Ogbuehi OT -- Projected near end of R1 prior to injury. He may slide to Miami at #47.
Hroniss Grasu C -- Really love this player. Joe Philibin has been wanting to use a face tempo offense, but hasn't had the players to make it work. Grasu has that experience at Oregon and is a tough, smart player who is more physical than given credit for. I think a great fit.
Josue Matias OG -- A 6-6 325 pound guard from Florida.
Danielle Hunter DE -- Based on potential he could go late first, but I think 2nd round is more appropriate.
Mario Edwards DE/DT -- Could be a target depending on what Miami does in free agency.
Tyeler Davison DT -- A small school prospect who might go a little higher than media projections.
Denzel Perryman ILB -- Based on his size, he may drop a little more than people expect. Will he get to #47?
