After the Atlanta game, I think we could do some quick changes that will allow us to be more effective on both sides of the field.
Offense:
1) Get Ricky and Cobbs more involved on offense. Until de OL starts to play like what they are paid for, we need quickness on the field. Ronnie is a power back and I think Cobbs and Ricky open lots of possibilities with screens and running outside the OT's.

2) Switch Long and Carey. You will think I am crazy, but I believe that as of now, Vernon has better feet/hands for a LT and the way that Long plays is better suited as a RT. And to be quite honest, I think that if Long plays RT we will get a message and will start playing with some "brains".

3) I liked the Pat white option, becasue he at least make defenders think about a long pass or a running play, but why not see Henne instead on some plays, or when the game is out of reach like yesterdays game. i mean if there is a chance for him to prove he can be the solution, is on games when you are losing by 19 points!!

Defense & ST:

1) I believe Culver is turning into a very solid coverage kind of Safety. I don't see the point on having Wilson and Bell at the same time, both are physical tackles but none of them are coverage players, we NEED a safety who can cover those TE that always hurt us, and support our rookies CB's.

2) Merling played like a beast and his reward should be starting next game, the message players will get is ..... show on game time and you will be rewarded!!!! If Wake is inactive, how would we know if he is worth keeping next year.

3) Fire Bona-Suerte or Nada-tengo or whoever is that guy in charge of ST, and if I were Sparano I would strat searching for a KR/PR, and some ST players that know how to block an tackle!!!! That would mean changing the bottom 3-4 of the roster. Which is a message I like!!!!

I'm not switching Long and Carey yet. If Long continues to struggle and gets embarrassed like he did in Atlanta I may consider after 4-5 more games. It all starts up front. If our O line starts playing well as a unit, we are set on Offense. It all starts with that group, the rest will fall into place.

Defense is staying as is for now. I like our Defensive line rotation right now. Manning will be a huge test for our secondary. I'm sure our secondary will be the topic of discussion after the game Sunday. I can see all the threads now "Cut Wilson" "Cut Smith and Davis" LOL

The problem is that our CB's are rookies and they will make mistakes, and as you could notice Bell and Wilson don't have the coverage skills needed to help those cornerbacks.

The issue here is the message you are sending. You play an amazing game like Merling and you'll get on the starting unit. You play like Long and Fasano and you get yourself into a compromised situation, if not benched at least give other players the chance to proove that there are players waiting to make the better of their opportunities.

I agree with your 2nd paragragh. I was goofing about our DB's. I was kinda just making fun of all the threads on this forum suggesting we should cut players after 1 bad game.

I am pretty amazing our ST coach still has his job. We have good athletes. There's just no excuse for our poor play.

You mean our Pro Bowl LT who has had one bad game in 18 career starts for our RT who has never made a Pro Bowl and had a bad game himself against ATL?:err:
