We back up the Brinks truck for Wilfork after cutting Porter and Gibril Wilson. NT is taken care of.

We pay out for Karlos Dansby. He's been franchised twice already and comes from a stingy ownership. Has already said he wanted to be here after the 09 Super Bowl.

We get Anquan Boldin. Boldin has been very vocal about wanting out of Arizona for a while. With Breaston, Fitzgerald, and Doucet they may be inclined to send him out of town either via cheap trade, or straight cut to save money. Even if they try to trade him, they have little leverage. he'd be the big weapon our offense needs and may just make something out of Ted Ginn in the process.

Anyone think this is stupid/unlikely? Opinions?

apparently word is we are extremely interested in Boldin last summer but hte asking price was just too high.

Now he has 1 yr left to be a FA I believe, older, and mor einjury prone so should drop his value. I'd give a 3rd for him thats it.

He is injured too damn often.

Dansby is going to be looking for about 20-25 mill gaurantee $...I'd rather give half that to Atogwe and draft McClain or Spoon.

The only one of your 3 scenarios that I would say is stupid/unlikely, like you asked, would be Wilfork. No way that NE doesn't either re-sign him or franchise tag him. Though, I think PIT will franchise tag Hampton, he'd be a little more realistic than Wilfork. The other two are possibilites. Absolutely. :hi5:

Atogwe is a RFA, he'd require a #1 and #3 in a trade.

Mr. Ed, i don't discount the possibility that Wilfork gets franchised. That could certainly happen. I just know he would be very mad if it did. He wants long term and he's a local boy. Plus New England has a bunch of guys they need to either re-sign or cut loose. But if they do, who do they get? They need pass rushing LB's but where will they get them? Perhaps they feel a pass rusher is more deserving of their money? they are notorious for letting players go rather than pay them. Seymour the most recent example. With 4 picks in the top 60 and Ron Brace on hand, they may just let him go.

I dont really want either Dansby or Boldin. Both are Getting old. Dansby wasnt the force this year that he was last year and Boldin is injury prone.

Gimme Vincent Jackson and Vince Wilfork

id rather have brandon marshall, but once again i am beating the build through the draft drum

Both Dansby and Boldin are 29. Not sure if that is old. I'd love Vincent Jackson or Brandon Marshall too, but I think this scenario is more likely than either of them being free agents.

Oh and Dansby sure came up big in the playoffs. Regular season maybe not, but playoffs.

he did have the one forced but we all know the TD should have came back..

Its laughable how the NFL, media (except for Cross), and everyone else are taking a blind eye to that HUGE facemask on Rodgers. Just goes to show you they call what they want and not necessarily what is right.

He doesnt excite me as much as he does some on this board, which is fine.

FORGET ABOUT WILFORK!!!!

for gods sake people, dont you know any of his history concerning the
miami dolphins?

he HATES the dolphins with all his heart and soul. he said as much
after he was drafted by new england.

many thought that the finz would go after him hard and heavy and
that they would be willing to make a trade to secure him in that
draft.

he said, i heard all of that before the draft. i can tell you all right
now, i hate the miami dolphins. always have. i would have held out
if they would have drafted me, thats how much i hate them. i am so
glad to be in a position to actually play against them. it couldnt
have worked out any better.

WILFORK IS NOT COMING TO MIAMI!!!!

boldin YES. i cant believe that there are still people out there that
havnt seen how pitifull our wr's are and the great effect on the teams
that have a great wr have.

get some lb's and d-help in f/a and then when #12 comes around, you
RUN that card up with GOLDEN TATE'S name on it.

he is another desean jackson [remeber him! the one everyone said was
another ted ginn?] tate has over 1400 yds reciving this year, double digit
td's and MASS numbers in the return game.

this is the light it up, sure handed, fast, slick, play making score machine
we desperatly need on this team. he comes from a big school that ran an
nfl offense.

plus, he is BIG TIME in the return game so you get 2 positions with one
draft pick. thats VALUE and NEED!!!

remember, we have free agency! lets get some defensive help there so we
can grab a PLAYMAKER with our first pick and then fill out the draft with
whatever defensive holes are left.

but forget about wilfork. no matter what the scenerio, he wont be playing
for miami. besides, he is set with money, has his rings and has NO reason
to change his stance on miami. other teams will be lining up for him also.

he can afford to pass up miami more than ever now.

Not saying he will come to the Fins, but he has said that he would absolutely be open to playing for them.
