Great win for the Phins. Is it me or am I just too concerned about this? Were something like 0 or 33 when we face 3rd down and 7+ yrds needed for a first down and 0 and 23 when we are facing 3rd and 10+ yards needed.

We went for it on 4th down and made that I believe. Ronnie Should of converted the third but instead of finishing his run he pulled up, slipped and was short 1/2 a yard. Stupid play by Ronnie.

I love the direction the team is going and the new management but reality is our offense is pretty pathetic. Nice win today but the Denver defense is about the worst in the league and today I'm sure the improved their stats against us.

I think your right. 1 for 24.

I think we came up short and that was when Ronnie went for the 4th and 1 to get it by a 3/4 football length. Could be wrong, but I remember that screen pass being in a 3rd and long situation.

The Ricky Williams catch at the 2 yeard line was on 3rd and 13, I believe.

N0 we didn't convert the 3rd and 19 but the play did gain about 18.5 yards and we subsequently converted the 4th and 1.

I think we're something like 1 for 40 or so when faced with 3rd and 7+. Hell you'd think with just blind luck we'd be able to convert a handful of these.

It's an issue that doesn't come down to just one problem. I think it's a combination of Chad's hesitation in throwing the ball in tight quarters as well as the receivers inability to get into the game plan. Some of it also boils down to the play calling and just bad luck.

It's rather amazing that we're at .500 with such a one sided stat. If we didn't have such a good turnover ratio it would probably be more significant.

Here is the one...

3rd and 13 at DEN 25 (3:59) (Shotgun) C.Pennington pass deep right to R.Williams to DEN 2 for 23 yards (L.Green) [E.Ekuban].

Good points you make. I hope it doesn't become our achilles late in the season or in a possible post season game.
