4-0 in the preseason didnt help.

I know coaches like to win in the preseason because its always better to win the game right? "Duh" But I have to think that it also instilled a false sense of security in the whole team. There are many coaches that really dont give a crap about winning in the preseason rather they want to judge tallent. So a victory over that team really doesnt account for much in the real world. Hopefully this loss will be a wakeup call to the team that they arent as good as they thought and kind hit the re-set switch. I know I kinda just wishing out loud but its a long season so lets see.

Yesterday we looked like we were in great pre-season form.

If you watched some of those preseason wins, we won fairly ugly. The only difference is the falcons were in regular season form.

When you start thinking you're good, you start forgetting the fundamentals.

The team bought into "fundamentals" last year because they knew they needed to. We lost yesterday because of poor fundamentals - ball protection, negative plays, blocking, etc. So I agree with you...whether it was last season or this preseason, I think our guys started believing they're good and forgetting what got them to 11-5 last season.
