4-3 vs 3-4?

This is a dilemma in the team moving forward. Should we stay with the 4-3 or, move back to a 3-4?

We are getting a lot of QB pressure, while not being as good vs the run so far. Soliai is a great run stopper, no matter what position you label him with. Odrick is a MUCH better DT than 3-4 DE. Starksy be gone. is VG at either but, will likely be gone.

Jordan is the key here. IMO, he is much better as a 3-4 OLB than a 4-3 DE, and will be Great at OLB in cover and rush, as opposed to just rush.

Will our DC be able to adjust his scheme and still be effective? What kind of defenses has Coyle been apart of in the past.

Most defenses now are multiple front. And that is what we need to be.

Depends on the roster.

Next year I'm guessing Starks is gone leaving us with Soliai and Odrick as primary DT's.

Soliai can easily play NT in the 3-4 with Odrick playing LE or RE in the 3-4. Issue comes with Wake, not a true 3-4 DE and would be a waste as a 3-4 OLB. Dion Jordan could play 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE.

Although with the LB's we signed we will not be switching to a TRUE 3-4 scheme. Wheeler and Ellerbe would play 3-4 ILB but Misi has no business playing 3-4 OLB, waaaaaaaay too slow.

The defense is fine as long as Patterson and Ellerbe stay healthy.

The offense needs to be re-tooled if anything.

Defense is fine. I have no qualms with it. like Mizfit said, the offense needs a makeover.

The offense still lacks the #1 wide receiver. It sucks, but with all of that money given to Wallace, Miami has gotten nothing out of that investment. Speed without much still as a route runner or receiver does no good. Mike Wallace thrived because big Ben could extend plays, and Wallace could run free. Miami has also been stubborn in not moving receivers around. I don't get it, if you move guys around, you get to toy with the defense and customize the types of plays you run.

Dustin Keller hurt Miami big time, at no fault of his own. I love what Charles Clay is doing this season, but I still believe that he is best used as a Swiss Army knife in this type of offense that Miami wants to run. This isn't a 5-WR set team, but with Clay and a competent tight end like Keller, it allows you to put five dynamic players on the field at once with Gibson, Wallace, Hartline, Clay and Keller.

Offensive line, obviously. Apart from Pouncey, this group isn't very good. The biggest aspect of Zone Blocking is having athletic freaks who have a good head on their shoulders and can get down the field. Pouncey is the only one who fits that bill.

Hate to say it, because I think as long as Philbin is here, the OC stays, but Sherman has a lot to do with not only situational calls, but developing an offense that works (moving receivers around, finding a way to get playmakers the ball). After he failed to get Bush involved last year, the writing was on the wall that he was either stubborn, or just not that great of a coordinator. Wallace is the most dynamic part of the offense, and Miami does nothing to get him looks. It's awful.
