how come miami does not play a 4-3?
They dont have the right players to play the 3-4.
they have not been a dominate D playing the 3-4 like they were playin a 4-3.
the players to play a 4-3 are more available then a 3-4.

i would personally prefer the 4-3. JT and Porter are old and Crowder and Ayodele arent anything to brag about. I would have Cam Wake as a DE, no doubt about it.

It's too late now. Porter and Taylor are gone next year. It's time to build the D and make it a 3-4.

yea i dont think Porter and JT will be in Miami next year. I definately think we will be drafting a LB in the 1st round. I wouldnt mind if we picked up a free agent like Dansby too.

I like the 4-3 but as long as Parcells is here, I see no change from the 3-4.

I agree. I am a 4-3 guy becuase the 3-4 players need to be more specialized. I think we have good talent to play a 4-3, but as you said as long as Parcells is around Miami will not run it.

Miami waited too long to change over to the 3-4. 5 years ago only a few teams ran the 3-4. it was easier to find players for the 3-4 then. Since the super bowl win by Pittsburgh the 3-4 became the "in" thing to run. The Tuna runs the 3-4 and this is what Miami has to deal with now. It would be much easier to "re-build" the team with a 4-3 D. More players to pick from coming out of collage. How many real NT's and 3-4 linebackers come out every year? Not many.

i just think with the players we have/had on this roster this year the 4-3 wouldve suited us better.

I mean we have Langford, Merling, Ferguson, Soliai, Starks, Wake...all these guys play on the D line. I would have Wake & Langford/Merling starting at DE and Ferguson/Soliai in the middle.

Its not like Joey Porter and JT have been bringing a good pass rush at all this year. I think Porters got like 4 sacks or some measly amount like that. I just think we have alot more depth at DL than at LB. Plus our starting LBs havent been very productive. Our safeties have the most tackles on our team.

I liked what i saw from Charlie Anderson a few weeks ago when he was in there. Torbor, Ayodele, Crowder...they arent elite inside linebackers. Theyre backups on other teams most likely. Ayodele doesnt wrap up when he tackles. Today i noticed it a few times. Crowder shows up half the time and Torbor rarely sees the field.

If you add some different personel at LB then i have no problem with the 3-4. I just feel like we have more talent and productivity on the D-Line than at LB this year. I really hope we get some hard hitting LBs who are in on every play.

ive never been a fan of the 3-4 because the linebackers are pretty much defensive ends and are a liability in pass coverage th 3-4 is good for stoping the run but in a passing leauge with these rules you gotta have linebackers who have some speed to stay with the tight ends and backs

Porter, JT and Cam all get after the QB. Akin and Channing play the run well. A successful 3-4 has linebackers who can drop back into zone or are able to stay with a TE and be effective. There isn't a LB on the roster, currently, that can do that.

To change over to the 4-3 would make the 08 draft a complete waste.

Why? Langford and Merling would be stud DTs, and Merling could play LDE in running situations. I think Miami would have a DT rotation that would rival that of the Jags when they had Henderson and Stroud in thier prime. Merling, Langford, Starks, McDaniels and Soliai. Then you have Wake at the RDE and Anderson at the LDE, I think that's a pretty good D Line.

I grew up with a healthy hatred for the 3-4 under Olividummy. I'd LOVE to go back to a 4-3 but I don't see it happening.
