With Super Bowl 48 (screw the Roman numerals) approaching the 40th anniversary of Miami's last championship is upon us. Actually it already past since they played the game earlier back in those days. Jan 13th, 1974 was the date. A lifetime ago.
With yet another organizational change in process let's look back on the 40 years following our last championship.
Don Shula was the man in charge for 22 of those 40. While he was never able to win another championship he did take the dolphins to 4 AFC championships (winning 2) and lost 2 Super Bowls. The dolphins were relevant back then.
The 18 years that have followed have been constant changes, only 3 playoff wins an not even a sniff at the AFC championship game. And the Dolphins have become the laughingstock of league.
The colts were able to win after a long drought (35 years) a few years ago.
Will Miami ever win again and when?
