This is a thread for all the Orlando Phin Fans, I have a question for you, why did you chose to be a Phin Fan rather than a Jaguar Fan or a Buc Fan???.

You might have chose a Florida team because you are near and you could probably go to the stadium to watch the games and those things...

But I want to hear your main options... :dolphins:

To begin,

I was a Dolphins fan before the Jaguars even existed, and the prospect of a new Florida team didn't thrill me at all.

I always hated the Bucs.

My grandfather was a Dolphins fan when he moved down from New York, and I watched the games from childhood with him, as often as I could.

It sort of just felt ingrained. The Bucs made me want to puke, and the Jaguars didn't get any rise out of me. I didn't care about their arrival at all.

Well I'm from Miami, I just go to school here (UCF). Born and raised in Miami for 17 years of my life. A Phin for life.

I was just raised a Dolphins fan. I think a lot of people's teams get passed down to them, and I always think it's kind of funny when people root for different teams then their parents. I hate the Jags, but I hate the Bucs almost as much as I do the Patriots. That Bucs loss last year hurt me. I hope we kill the Jags this year.

I was a Dan Marino fan, thus I became a Dolphin fan. I was like 8 and all I knew was I liked watching him throw the ball. At that time the only other Florida team was the Bucs and they were a joke with terrible uniforms.....

I'm from Ft. Lauderdale... but I go to UCF in Orlando...

woo im the third ucf student to post in here, anyway to the topic i always watched football with my dad,(R.I.P. 1957-2002, a diehard finfan and im sure is still rooting for them up there), for as long as i can remember. so thus i inherently watched the dolphins but the real selling point for me was dan the man i mean when i was 8 he was our awesome quarterback that could throw anything anywhere and he was in my favorite movie ace ventura:tongue: !!, but seeing dan throw the way he did was awe inspiring to say the least:dolphins:

Grew up in Miami during the glory years. Hate the Bucs and their stupid band wagon fans. Hate the Jags more than any other team, mostly because they claim O-town as home territory and since they came into the league, i miss a bunch of Fins game on tv. Now I have NFL sunday ticket.

Sorry to hear about your dad, I'm sure that he is still rooting for us.

After just graduating from UCF, I bleed as much black and gold as I do Aqua and Orange. Glad to have you aboard. I am originally from south florida, lived in Miami, Kendall, then Coral Springs.

Originally I'm from Orlando but now I live in Charlotte. I have only been here for a few years.
There was no Jacksonville and Tampa had just started their team when I was starting to watch football.

This is not limited to Orlando fans, but I think many Dolphin fans throughout the State and elsewhere are like me and became Dolphin fans when the Bucs and Jags didn't exist, they were our state Pro team.

I have been a Dol-phan before the Yucs and Gags ever existed.
I'm still upset with the NFL for allowing the Gags to name Orlando as a "secondary" market and not allowing fans who don't have DirecTV to see the games.

Before 75 or 76 the only game here (orlando) was the Dolphin's and what ever else they wanted to give us.Than the buc's came around,They made a interesting side show some time's.Still can remember McKay and his answer's to reporter's.Still laugh my a** off when I think about it.Then the team come's along which told me that they wanted to TELL me what I could watch. You all know why the saint john's run's north don't you?Jacksonville Suck's.Next to the dolphin's my favorite team is who ever whip's there a**.I have been glad that they managed to get the paper mill stench out of there city but I sure wish they would go bother some one else.
