Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms on a new contract with free agent RB Najeh Davenport (Packers). Davenport will sign a one-year contract, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Saturday afternoon, March 25. "Najeh will be in Green Bay Sunday night (March 26) and he'll sign the contract Monday (March 27)," Rosenhaus said. "We had several teams that were interested in him, but he really enjoys playing for the Packers and he wanted it to stay that way. He's very happy to get it squared away. It's good news."

I was never sold on him to begin with. To think Wannstedt and Speilmen were ready to trade a second round pick for him. Weatehr Ricky comes back or not is irrelivent, as long as we have someone servicable to back up Ronnie we should be set.
 
Ehh. Im not too upset. Dont get me wrong, he has potential, but I'm confident that Ricky will be back. Even if Ricky didnt come back, I would rather find a speedster to compliment Ronnie's bruiser style.
 
I still think that Travis Minor is one hell of a third down/backup runner. He is blazing fast and can usualy make the first guy miss

Minor is NOT blazing fast, no way. He's nothing more than a special teamer at this point, and the fact he doens't go elsewhere in free agency just shows you what other teams think of him as well.

Davenport never wanted to be the man, anyway. He was scared to leave Green Bay 2 years ago when we needed him. He's one of the few former Canes players that kinda lacks heart. With all of his talent, he should be a top five back.
