This is obviously hindsight. The fans were booing when they brought in the punt team and if not for a slip by Feeley, we get the 1st down. He made the right decision, and the announcers agreed. It was just poor execution. Remember, there are two parts to football - play-calling and execution. Unfortunately we can't execute. :shakeno:

I totally disagree....we weren't running the ball ALL night long, and the field was soaked on top of that.......we have poor coaching and you're right, we can't execute

this is a case of the coach "always being wrong"..... i think it was a great call... if you can't get a fourth and one with your D holding the other team all night, and you're at midfield, you don't deserve to win.

he was bringing the punt unit on, the entire stadium erupted in boos, the announcers even booed him, and everyone did at home.

if he makes it, he's the best coach ever... if he misses it.... well.... he's wannstedt!

I still don't understand that when you have about 15 yards of total offense, and consistently go 3 and out why you would go for it....all the Pittsburgh fans at the restaurant were laughing because they KNEW we wouldn't make it....sad...very sad

Under tonight's conditions, punting was the right call. Wannstedt changed his mind because he got booed.
