Rixon's 5 keys to sundays game

obvioiusly keep the turn overs to a bare minimum are one of the keys and contain Darren Sproles are keys but here are the other ones if we are to have a shot at winning the toughest game of the season so far. Lets go FINS!!!!!!!!!!!!

1)- Rattle their all pro all world QB with "exotic" blitz packages. This might be the only shot the D has to contain the potent offense the San Diego Chargers have

2)-Long vs Merriman. The young LT MUST hold his own against this eras Lawrance Tayor.

3)- Smith vs Jackson last week he was somewhat succesful against Reggie Wayne he needs to do the same this week.

4)- Ted Ginn Jr has to make a big big play. Weather its on special teams on a reverse a deep pass for a TD. the kid needs to score a touch down and get his game on. he must do something like this or his career might be over for lack of confidence in his abilities. this happens to many players that are overhyped like Ginn Jr was in the offseason.

5)- Pat White must get in the game and complete a pass. It will be nice if the staff uses him as the "secret" weapond they bought and paid for.

1) The problem with the "exotic" blitz packages, like the jets run, is it leaves you extremely vulnerable to screen passes and slants where the reciever only has to make the first guy miss and it's smooth sailing to 6.

2) I would call Ware this generations LT much moreso than Merriman. Merriman has yet to record a sack or tackle this season. He's not good in coverage or a great run defender.

3) We need to let Smith play Jackson 1 on 1 and stop giving him so much safety help until he proves he needs it. Will give us the extra defender to focus on Gates.

4) I agree he needs to make a big play, but I doubt it will have anything to do with his confidence.

5) The only thing I can think of with White is we're putting him in there to get some film of how defenses plan to defend it. I agree he needs to complete a pass if he is in there, he is not nearly as effective running the ball as Brown or Williams.

Phillips is a Dan Marino type QB if we just sit back hell tear us appart. Antonio Gates is too good.

1. Cover the tight end.
2. Cover the tight end
3. Cover the tight end
4. Cover the tight end
5. Tackle the tight end

Rixon I believe this post one of your better pieces of work. While it may be obvious its not ridiculous. Good work, and Rivers is no Marino.

Everyone is concerned about Jackson, Sproles and Gates, and rightfully so.. But they have more weapons. That 6 foot 5 receiver Malcolm Floyd caught a 45 yard TD last week. He's a big dude.

So that is two 6 foot 5 receivers they have with Floyd and Jackson. Sean Smith can't cover them both... Eight different players caught passes from Rivers last week, They can spread it around.

Everyone forgot about Garcon on the Colts last week, but he killed us in the end.

The Chargers had 500 yards of offense last week...

Who is Phillips? If you're talking about Philip Rivers then, yes, he's a pretty good QB. I would really like to see a corner cover Antonio Gates as much as possible since our safeties and linebackers have no chance to stay with him. By the way, after going over 100 yards receiving last game, it is absolutely preposterous to say that Ginn's career would be over if he doesn't make a huge play this week. This guy is going to play in the NFL for years. It may not be as a #1 receiver but he's not going to have difficulty finding a job.

That may be true but why bother passing to anyone else if you can just throw it to your tight end for touchdowns all day? The Dolphins have to prove they can stop an elite tight end and until they do so, the Chargers should continue to attack at that position.

How can you not attack these guys with "exotic" blitzes. a blitz can stop the run and it can also stop the pass. the Chargers can pass and run very well.

Or it can get you roasted on a draw play or quick hitter.

The screen pass will kill us. I hope our O can drop 31 this week cuz were gonna need it.
