Ryan Tannehill, QB — Tannehill has been solid throughout the spring and summer but it would be inspiring to see him take a giant step forward tonight. Much of Miami’s hopes are banking on the impact of a Tannehill over Jay Cutler upgrade. Will he take a few shots down the field, perhaps to Kenny Stills? We think so. Will we see Tannehill try to slide with his knee brace? He should. Also worth watching: Does David Fales do some things to lock up the backup quarterback position? Fales did not have a good outing last week.

I'd agree with 4 of them for sure. I don't think we need much from Gore tonight as we know what he can do. If we're going to have a good offense then Tunsil has to play well to help Tannehillplay well too and on defense we need RM to man the middle. Gesicki needs to become a big weapon in our offense. I'll be looking for all of that tonight.

Gore can take zero snaps for all I care, he shouldn’t even be on list.

If he does get some snaps I expect they will be very limited.

List is good minus Gore. Biggest thing for me tonight is going to be the run defense. We've gotten carved up the first two preseason games defense needs to show up tonight.

5 Things at this stage of development of the Dolphins that I spotlight

RT... for obvious reasons

OL ... the level of competency and amount of gelling together and playing as a unit at this stage... (Level they open holes or give QB time) possibly the one greatest improvement for this team in a while (fingers crossed)

Coaching.... insight and abilities to improve some obvious areas needing that improvement. Do they see areas and if so are they doing anything to upgrade ( red zone effectiveness, DB continuity and playing in the same zip code as the WR's. LB's used to fullest capabilities. DL effectiveness in run stopping, Disciplined and informed The Penalties will STOP. Osweiller keeping the seat warm on the sideline for obvious reasons...
Hell, just seeing something of a legitimate upgrade and evidence that someone might know what he's doing because at this point Im'a confused....

Gesicki actually being involved and catching a pass or 2-3 (anywhere) maybe not a top spotlight just like to see something of production from all the hype about his roll (lot a pressure on the poor kid in only his 3 fake game

QB throwing passes for the actual yardage needed to get a first down.... More often ...
and pretty much the end of 3rd and 9 a draw up the middle...or a 2 yd pass.....JMO

In Gore's place they could have inserted the name of any cornerback not named Xavien Howard and it would be a spot on list.

Gore is only as good as the offensive line is a dictating to the defense, so playing Gore is more about them than Gore. I say play him a bit, it’s a long night. The cohesiveness of the offense is critical and replacing your center has a ripple effect. They need quality game speed time together to get their nuances down for prime time. Ryan… I think it’s all been said by now. Show some passion out there and run this machine the way Gase has drawn it up. I would like to see execution on both sides of the ball regardless of who is on the field for either team. Execution. Mistakes and penalties- do you play like you partied last night or like you are partying later tonight? Bam. Coaching. You guys are in the spotlight too. This is dress rehearsal for the games that count. Backup quarterback, I wish Petty was playing tonight. Would like to see some new blood with upside than some Osweiler type that has high hopes of clinging to a backup paycheck on somebody’s roster. I think we dump all but one and bring in another guy that Gase or one of the coaches knows. Finally- score touchdowns. Drive and finish, don’t let your foot off the gas. Up tempo or hurry up, whatever, just execute and look like you have been playing together for a while.

It is obvious to me that Gesicki is a big part of Gase's Top Secret plan. He's holding him back in games to work on blocking. And he is working him in practices as a red zone threat.

Doesn't take a math magician to figure out Gase is expecting BIG things from our TE's this year. As he should. We are deep and have a lot of young talent. I won't be shocked if we chose an extra TE over another roster spot as we trim down to 53. Seems the historically weakest part of our offense that has the biggest potential to leap forward this year and catch a lot of teams off guard with a new emphasis in our scheme.

I also think Gase has been giving Brock a lot of snaps in preseason to boost potential trade value. I could see him going with RT, DF and BP. But I also think QB3 is going to be a hard decision with all of the talent we have at other positions. That extra QB spot is hard to justify unless he thinks he thinks BP is worth developing.

1) Tannehill
2) McMillan
3) Baker
4) Tunsil
5) 2nd CB

After reviewing Fales limited attempts last week, he had 3 drops and a penalty work against him. His stat lines didn't look but it was partly a team failure. Hopefully, he does step and a secure the backup spot. We need to put that to rest. If Tannehill misses any extended time we are done for the season regardless who is playing backup.

hence, there's no real rush to see who the back up is.....lol

Also, worth watching a player on the other team. RG 3 has looked good and may get cut due to numbers game. Would he be a better back up than Fales? Methinks yes.
