5th Down Blog - Conversation with Ricky Williams

Great read, RW's personality is well seen all throughout that interview. Even after all the problems after he left us, I still find it very hard to root against him. I like him and his personality very much. I can aslo relate with him some when it comes to Anxiety issues.
Go Ricky!

He said something about changing his first name because he thinks its a kids name does anyone know anything else about this?

His given name is "Errick". So lately he has been introducing himself as Errick Williams (especially in his massage school's clinic), and will correct people if they still call him Ricky. Something along the lines of "I introduced myself to you as Errick, please call me Errick."

Dave Hyde had a piece and video last week covering this and his new "career" as a massage therapist...was referenced there I think.

Excellent article - I particularly appreciated one of the comments that I have pasted below.

"I can tell you that as many times we (as Dolphin fans) have felt let down by Ricky (who’s perfect though really), we never disliked him. In fact I’d say he’s going to go down as one of the most beloved Dolphins ever. Yes, the guy is an eccentric character, but he’s always been consistently himself, a genuinely good human being."

He's been branded as the NFL pot smoking trouble child and he's trying to shake that image. He's one of the most talented, interesting and well spoken guys in the NFL imo and I wish him all the best. I'm glad that he's a Miami Dolphin.

I love this guy because he is uniquely innocent in everything he does...

He is like a more normal Michael Jackson in that he doesn't seem as corrupted as most people.

?? Not sure I agree with the Michael Jackson comparision. Michael was about the most corrupted dude around in my book. I liked some of is old music, but his relationship with some of those kids were pretty sick stuff.
