Crowder's #1 Girl!
I peaked at Ozzy's thread before I started writing here and I've got to say he came up with the same overall feeling I had this morning. -BORING-! Last months mini-camp was much more exciting to watch, but there were a few key points i'd like to bring up to you all.
First my favorite picture to hype up the morale
Traylor/Eckel - In my mini-camp report I showed you guys a funny picture of Keith Traylor being "reigned" in the middle of the field but i'm sorry to report I did NOT see any signs of him out there today. Instead, was Kyle Eckel #40. Not sure if he plans on being Traylors back-up or what the situation is there, but it caught my eye and I thought i'd bring it up.
QB's - Coach Cam worked a LOT with the QB's today. For a good hour the QB's were throwing in a line of 3, with the 4th QB off with Coach Cam. They rotated each having a turn one-on-one with Coach Cam. I think he was being serious when he said the starting QB position is still up for grabs. I was not really thrilled to hear we were picking up Green because everyone sees him as just one concussion away from being out, but I have just been more and more impressed by him. Watching the QB's together was like watching a father mentor his son. You can tell he's just on a whole nother level from our other guys. I do love to throw out my disclaimer though, playing in a game type situation is totally different from training camp. So, despite how confident I am in our QB situation (and I am thoroughly impressed by our guys) it could be an absolute disaster in the pre-season. No one knows for certain all we can do is cross our fingers and support the guys!
Here's Coach Cam breaking it down to the boys
Ginn - I know who EVERYONE wants to hear about is Ginn. I'm not totally sold on the kid just yet, but he looks like a very good prospect for us. Beck threw him a pass that went high and he reached for it grabbed it with his fingertips and just pulled it back in with a slam. The crowd went nuts. One thing I loved was that in one of the drills he caught the ball, and instead of just ending the play and tossing it back he ran it in. You can tell he was trying to show us that he was willing to work it out for us.
Defense - you know, there just isn't much to add about our defense. they didn't really work them too hard in this mornings practice....just a lot of blocking drills and line drills.
Ronnie Brown - whichever moron reporter said that ronnie brown came in overweight was out of his mind. he is a total monstrous beast. he is a magic man for us. one thing we can all appreciate the sabanator for.
Joe Toledo - I know a couple of you have asked me about Joe. I half-expected to see him just standing around in his cast like for June's mini-camp. They had him on the bikes for most of the morning practice, then he put his leg brace back on and went with the o-line. They were doing drills with the medicine balls and he participated. The way I see it, we didn't keep this guy for no reason. Obviously all the coaches see a big can of whoop-*** in him to keep him around being injured. They aren't doing that with other guys *ehet-hem* haha. Here he is on the bikes.
Sexy Rexy Hadnot - He is looking TRIM. Let me tell you, Coach Cam is OBVIOUSLY doing some cleaning house because these guys are FIGHTING for their jobs now. So many of the players out there were much improved and playing with POWER and heart. You can tell Cam is not letting them bull**** around anymore.
