7/30 Morning camp report

I like the sound of this
Quentin Moses looks really quick. He blows right past Boomer Grigsby to the outside, then later glides right past Anthony Fasano to the inside.

He says they released a new roster sheet, then acts like he doesn't know who number 30 is. Just look on the sheet!

According to the report Beck is looking better than McCown today. It seems to go back and forth. I hope someone steps up soon and claims the job outright.

Not surprising. Beck has looked good in shorts and shells but not so good with the pads on. If he expects to get anything more than mop up duty this year, he better start looking good when the pads are on.

hearing great things about Moses. This guy was a STUD at UGA, expected to be taken early. Then cut from 2 different teams for whatever reason(personal i guess).

I feel like we got an extra 1st round pick in this guy.

It's possible that Moses was just in need of some quality coaching...but I'm not sure why he wouldn't have received that with the other two teams.

We'll see. Charlie Anderson is the better all-around player and so far his pass rush has been pretty good too.

I will reserve judgement until after I see a few preseason games.
I don't care about the long passes in practice.
I want to see which QB's can move the chains and sustain drives.

True.

Boy Bill Parcells seems to really love Jayson Foster. You have to wonder if that alone gets Foster a place on the team.

True enough... All these reports are great, and they make for great precursors to preseason games. But we all know it's those games that will truly identify progress in these players.

U gotta think he and Ginn are going to be the special team returners this year and I think Foster will make this team along with Bess. Camarillo may be the odd man out because the top 4 looks set with Ginn, Wilford, Hagan and Glenn (assuming the reports are true), but wasn't Camarillo the gunner last year? I guess that was then and I know we have really upgraded the Special teams anyways so that probably wont matter. BP probably just needs another returner so Ginn can focus on being the #1 WR (though obviously he will still return kicks as well).

Even though Beck looks better then McCown he is still struggling a little on the deeper routes. This can be a problem in my opinion. See if we are succesful running the ball in games teams will bring 8, 9 men in the box. Hitting the deeper routes will "soften" up the secondary and keep them honest. If Beck can't hit those Deeper routes and teams catch on to that then they will make life tough on us by keeping people in the box and cloging up the short and intermediate passing areas.

It seems that Beck is taking on a lot as of right now with his new throwing motion and learning the new offense. I hope he can settle down, get his new throwing motion in check and make a few plays to earn the starting spot. I have all of his football cards so he needs to do something to prove his worth!
