72 Championship ????????

When Miami is 15-0 going into the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1972.
Why did they play on the road.Ive been trying to figure it out.Can anyone help me.

Because back in the day there was no home field advantage, games rotated between home and road in the playoffs. (Im pretty sure.)

So if we played the browns in clevland we would play in miami 4 the championship.Thanks for the reply sounds like we should have had better advantage back then.When we played oak in 74 was that rule in effect to.
