if you watched driven the youtube series featuring Billy Turner you knew his work ethic and attitude was great. I don't think anyone should be surprised this man is gonna start and do well too I might add. Every player that puts in the work to improve has improved. look at Hartline, Mathews, Vernon, Miller (looks like he has), Jordan (looks like it), and I believe Tannehill has shown a work ethic

Sounds like Albert did well today..Vernon held in check.
I hope Hoskins shows enough for a Roster spot.
Excited to get Jenkins on the field.
Courtland seems ready.. Delmas will being us what we need in the huddle during a long drive.
Brady and and RB will Kill Misi on opening day... we better have a nickel ready

Charles Clay running through defenders like a Dodge Ram

wow! SPIKE! i like it!! charles clay.... "like a mopar".

charger charles?
charles "challenger" clay?

nice dodge ram referance SPIKE. . go charles clay and go mopar!!

[REMEMBER: it takes a mopar to catch a mopar]. :chuckle:

Thanks NY23 for that. I have not read it yet but I will tonight. Looking forward to it. I'll just add really quickly what a friend from another board told me about the scrimmage as he was there today:

He didn't stay to the end but he said Miller looked good and Thomas did not. Gillislee had a nice run. Matthews had a nice catch and run. The defense made some "boneheaded plays". Tannehill looked good the first drive and so did the o-line. The o-line looked okay but not as great after that.

From how he described the trainer working on Clay and Clay moving around after that (this was all right in front of where he sat), he looks to be alright, which I think is what the news said anyway..

I have to say if the o-line was not the headline today, that's a pretty good thing with all the problems we have heard up to now.

Good stuff. Tha ks for the update.

Lots of positives, OL, Tannehill, Miller, and our entire defense it seems.

But I was happiest to hear about Jordan Tripp. Not the 73 yard run for a TD--although that does sound awesome--but he had another forced fumble strip. He had another in practice just a few days ago. That is something that has been sorely missing from this defense since Zach Thomas left.

It would be nice to draft a decent LB for a change.

Billy turner gets the start at right guard...come on son get her done

I don't know where the idea that a couple regular season games will make the line better comes from. It wasn't until 3-4 games in that we knew the line was a total train wreck last year, and once the rest of the NFL realized it they didn't let up. There were a couple games that we were able to get by in the second half, but overall they never really let up.

Watching some scrimmage video now it sure looks like no huddle to me after a series starts...I may be watching 2 minute offense stuff but there's no doubt we gonna go fast this year...can see billy turners movement on the inside gets to the second level well able to get his head out in front flowing laterally...lots of hard lateral movement with the oline...especially the interior...pounceys tailor made for what I see...Dallas Thomas body looks much better than last year...garner there may not have been any bad result snaps but he was above the head high or to the left or right more than you want to see and one time he called out the protection with a hand on the ball and then lost the grip got it back a nanosecond before the snap...

Saw a dion Jordan sack bull rush no doubt the extra weight helped walked fox right back into the qb nothing different than what I saw
Last year bull rush wise just more lead in the pants...on the same play Dallas Thomas at right tackle gets beat by Shelby would have had the sack if Jordan didn't get there first...

Sure looks to me like billy turner is a front runner for a starting guard job right now...definitely in contention

Ball absolutely comes out faster...

I apologize for my laziness. I understand Gillisee and Williams looked good but can anyone tell me how my darkhorse Darkwa did?

I forgot to mention that. My friend who was watching at the game said he got a decent amount of time, but "didn;t do much with the ball". I don;t know if that means he didn't get the ball much or didn't do very well when he had it, but it doesn't sound encouraging for today. He wasn't specific. Sorry.

Tripp on his way to the starting lineup

Tripp probably slower though more instincts and can make big plays

Wheeler could play 10 years and never get a strip fumble touchdown..
