8/22 Practice Tweets

Mike Pouncey promises to be back.

He was not available to reporters in the locker room today and obviously was not on the practice field because he is now nursing a left hip injury (again) that has forced the team to shut him down the remainder of the preseason. And, yes, coach Adam Gase said Pouncey's status for the season opener in Seattle on Sept. 11 is uncertain.

Nonetheless Pouncey is unfazed.

"Weathering the storm!" he posted on his Instagram account. "Tough times don't last tough people do. I'll be back!"

Xavien Howard did some team and some one on one. Gase: "He's saying he's feeling good."

The only thing I want to hear from these practice tweets is that the DEs learned to stop giving away the edge and the entire defense worked on tackling drills the entire day!

Well since the media only gets limited time with them know maybe they worked on that during the closed portion of practice. :err:

Interesting. 3 man competition for RG including Thomas. Tunsil must have LG locked up

Here are some Omar ones- only the plays with the most limited amount of his opinion I could find.

Reshad Jones just picked off Zac Dysert.

AJ Hendy with an interception during 1-on-1s. Kid has some skills. He's definitely sponge worthy.

Beautiful screen to Arian Foster. Then Foster deep for 25. Where has this guy been the last two weeks? Looks like a totally different back.

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 1h1 hour ago Davie, FL
Tannehill with a nice step up on the pocket on a throw to Jordan Cameron, who dropped it. Surprise!

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 1h1 hour ago Davie, FL
Andre Branch with a sack of Tannehill inside the 10-yard line.

Ryan Tannehill with a red zone TD to Devante Parker. Welcome to practice DeVante. Nice to see you.

Tannehill with a goal line touchdown to Jarvis Landry. Red zone work today

I think James Walker mentioned that Kiko Alonso was having trouble in coverage which was supposed to be a strength of his.

I hope it's rust from not practicing for a long time, but I don't see his rookie quickness. If it's rust, it will take another 4-8 weeks. If it's injury, I won't go there.

Yea, well even though I am not at practice, it should be...

1. Jermon Bushrod
2. Billy Turner
3. Any other Linemen on the team not starting, or named Dallas Thomas.
4. Any linemen that is not signed, waiting by the phone at a chance.
5. Someone off the streets, if he can walk, he is better then Thomas.
6. Bring back one of the old time linemen, does not matter if they are collecting Social Security.
7. Allow Dallas Thomas to take the position, and make sure to have next to you plenty of beer, or any alcoholic beverage.

Cameron is pressing. I grant you that he's a finesse guy who can't catch in traffic and outmuscle/outhustle the defender for the ball. But there is still no explanation for all the drops. he is supposed to be a professional.

People seem down on Sims but I'd argue Sims is the better player and should start.

If you ever watch him attempt to block it becomes very apparent he's a finesse guy. I'm not sure if he still has previous thoughts of concussion on the mind but he plays very ginger for a TE.

Any idea who makes the team as 3rd TE? Is it our drafted TE?
