Rizzi says missed FG ball came out low but protection was problematic in multiple areas.

Vance Joseph says you watch four New England games "you see four different teams. You never know what you're going to get."

Vance Joseph says Cam Wake was "gassed" at the end of last game because played more base snaps than team would want.

Darren Rizzi says Jarvis Landry use in punt returns will vary. Last week 3. Some weeks 5. Some weeks 1.

Jay Ajayi was not the sole first team back yesterday. Pead got snaps with first team. Foster did not practice.

Christensen made clear No. 2 running back open competition. Said Ajayi practiced well yesterday, mentioned Pead. (Obviously,Williams/Drake)

Don't see this changing anytime soon.

I hope Ajayi can set himself apart in the competition. Really do need a hammer in the backfield. The more I think about it, the more I see this as a way to set Ajayi on the right path. He never had this much adversity in his rookie year. Just hope this works and turns him into someone you can rely on.

Im wasn't a big fan of foster being named the starter at the time. I thought he would never regain his form pre injury but so far he has certainly proved me wrong.

Williams is our best back behind Foster. These guys have had since July to emerge and nothing happening. Don't see how that changes at this point.

NE is a master of exploiting weaknesses. Look out Special Teams NE is coming!

Time will tell, but I hope Williams isn't the guy behind Foster all season. Pead outperformed him handily against 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string guys all preseason.

Williams special teams blunders of last year still stick in my mind lol i do think ajayi is the best option for number 2. Drake gets an incomplete grade from me because i haven't seen enough yet good or bad

I want the best guy out there, if it's Williams so be it. Also there's a lot more that goes into player evaluation than just preseason games, stats don't tell the whole story. Gase and company have had nothing but high praise on Williams, other than him showing up to camp out of shape.

I just want more of those flash plays we saw from Ajayi last year. He had a handful of plays where teams couldn't do squat to stop him.

as much as I hate to admit it and want to see more of Pead etc I think your right about Williams.

I think Practice starts at 1 so we should get some more info and injury updates etc then.

A handful is about right, in the end he was nothing spectacular. Like I said, he has had since July to claim his spot against weak competition to say the least. Just don't see how sitting him in week 1 is going to magically inject superpowers into him.

With Foster's injury history and the workload we're giving him it seems likely it will change sooner rather than later.

Oh no, not saying that. Just hope it drives him to have some better work ethic and earn a spot on the field. Rooting for the kid because I've seen enough of Williams to know he is not an asset you can depend on.
