For many years now the Dolphins have had horrible drafts and free agent acquisitions. I would watch as our cast-offs usually would end up out of the league entirely. Well the tide is turning. It is not completely turned. But I believe it is far better than it use to be.

Currently there are 9 UFA from last year's team. So far, 8 have left and signed elsewhere. We have resigned only 6. This is I believe an effort to rid ourselves of the players we should have never had here in the first place. This organization is making far better moves in the last 2 years than it has made in the last 20 and it shows in the fact that other teams will take our players either as free agents or even as trades. For many years, the only trades we could get was to give away our draft picks because no one had any interest in the players on our roster. The talent level IS on the rise. But still a work in progress.

I also believe that we're getting better talent-wise. Yes, we still have key holes - but the draft approaches, and FA isn't over yet.

I'm getting excited to see what unfolds for 2015.

I agree. We finally can wheel and deal because teams actually like what our players have shown on the field. Its an exciting time to be a phins fan again.

I agree 100%.For some reason I see us finally getting over the hump and hopefully we become awesome again within the next two years.

IN the near future, during the Fins win over NE in the AFC Championship game, watching Kraft slip out of his seat and making his way to the exit in the middle of the 4th quarter will be delightful.
The winds of change are in our favor now. The Pats are going down in 2015

Hickey's calling card was talent identification and last year, in his first season as GM, he showed its no fluke. The James's pic was not luck but astute recognition of talent and drafting for the scheme.

Everything that has happened so far from Suh to Stills to Cameron is an extension of last year. And also the complete commitment to the youth movement and developing our draft pics. Seems logical, it is, but, regimes of the past 15 years appear too have not thought it to be.

Hickey was not à part of the dolphins. He hasn't been here 20 years like he was in Tampa. He couldn't walk right in and make sweeping changes until he identified HIMSELF what needed sweeping!! I am sure he had a simple knowledge of things in miami but not enough to make responsible changes walking in the door. No one could. Or should. Not even king Tannenbaum.

So, a year later, he has seen the talent pool, the locker room vibe, what needs to stay and what needs to go. And, the initial evaluation of his 1st dolphins draft.

As he has mentioned, he had several players he thought would be great additions to the team for months in advance, the above 3 and probably some others we haven't seen, yet, or were swept up by other teams.

The injuries killed last season. No coach, no player. Injuries and plenty of them. Plus the lack of depth and that was the ship that sank. It also stunted hickeys's eval of his rookies as they to were smacked by the injury onslought.

New season!! Fresh players, some big time talent and the continuance and REAL hope of a hickey year two. I think this is a shared vibe through fans, players and press, that the fins are into a new generation and one that will be fruitful with playoffs and maybe........, just maybe that one game we all want to see us in.

Finally, a leader we feel will produce and truly is giving the team new direction.

What Tannenbaum will do, I don't know for the long haul but right now, he is the face and voice that used to be Ross. A guy who most feel understands the game and one who has spent years in it. Ross had neither and you could see him cringe when he was asked football questions by the media. He was hard to take serious. And its appears to be what he is here to do and that's just fine by me. And if he stays out of Dennis Hickey's way. If those two things stay as they are, the future is very bright, for a change!!!
