The box score I saw said that the Saints had 99 yards of total offense...is this correct? I don't care if it's preseason...that's impressive. How did they score 10 points with 99 yards of offense?

I'm thinking they scored the 10 points due to our turnovers and probably good field position.

Another thing that impressed me about the defense is they got another 5 sacks! Very nice! :hi5:

Thank goodness the whole team made it through the preseason with no major injuries! I guess that revamped conditioning program really helped.

Brees didn't play, Shockey didn't play, Chad and company looked like crap. Not a great showing. On the bright side if we could convince everyone to play their 2nd and third stringers against our second and third stringers. I think we could be a wildcard team.

Which is why it's silly to judge preseason games. It's not like Chad had a lot of opportunity to get any kind of rhythm going. He threw what, 4 passes?

looked like crap? That's pretty strong considering he hardly even played. Like the statement above reads, he only threw 4 passes. If looking like crap is failing scoring a touchdown on every offensive possession then Pennington is going to look like crap a lot this year.

Miami did pretty well overall I think. The fumble is what got them the touchdown, our D could have held them on the goal line but once again they showed up really strong on the goal line against the run...so the Saints passed it in, a little too easily if you ask me (I think Crocker should have been able to step in front of that pass, personally).

They had some early protection issues with the backs, that got fixed and we started leading some scoring drives, then we ran the ball to run out the clock. Good game. We really got after the passer today that stood out a lot. Also, of course, we stopped the run. Special teams did well. Ronnie looked pretty damn good if you ask me. Wilford stepped up. Was a good day.

"How did they score 10 points with 99 yards of offense?"
-- On one of Henne's first plays, he fumbled the ball on the dolphins 20 yard line, and Deuce McCalister ran it in a few plays later. The Saints were up 10-0 at that point. After that, Henne played great.

Man...our defense has been stout all around all preseason. If we play 75% this well during the season on D I'd be happy.

I mean they weren't getting ANYTHING on the ground. Pass rush was more effective this preseason than I figured it would be. We'll see how it plays out, though.

One thing seems certain: we're ready to play some real games.
