Walterfootball just posted an awesome new mock draft that has some late risers like Anothony Barr, Two QBs and Odell Beckham. The outcome is driving the OT's down a few picks. And the kicker for MIA is the NYG at pick #12 end up choosing Zack Martin over Taylor Lewan, allowing us to trade up 3 spots for the Michigan prospect ,surrendering a mere 3rd round pick. So sweet. That is actually somewhat pretty realistic too because NYG are rumored to like Martin's versatility, character, and sound technique. In that scenario I think Miami ends up getting a steal and a future LT for themselves. Not too shabby IMO. Anyway sorry if this was a spoiler but it got me siked. I'm sure they will have a final mock update closer to the draft next week. and Charlie also has a respectable mock as well to check out. Any thoughts on a scenario like this? and how possible do you think it is?!

I've noticed they have been pumping the mocks out like crazy as of late. While it would be interesting to see that happen, I still don't see Miami trading up. I think they wait til their pick and if their player isn't there, then they try to trade down.

to deep a draft to trade up.
i wld believe there was a Santa Claus n Easter Bunny b4 i believe we trade up

For a team with many needs, I think giving up a 3rd rounder in this draft is foolish.

I wouldn't go that far, it works both ways, the deep draft might make the "value" to move up too good to pass up. Jockeying for position to "steal" this or that player is where good GMs try to make hay. When we played the Saints this season I got the feeling that Payton was pimping Graham just to rub it in our faces that he "stole" Graham from us, he thinks he played the perfect poker hand thinking he knew what our cards were and exactly what to bet, and he's probably right. What this tell me is these guys don't just take a lot of pride in picking the right players but they take a lot of pride in knowing who the other teams are likely to draft which brings me to my point -- if there is a player Hickey loves and he "knows" the Jets want the same player and it only costs a third to leapfrog them then it'll probably happen.

On paper, Lewan would be a nice get, but with so few draft picks and so many holes to fill, I don't think we have the luxury of burning one for a potential "A" player when there might still be "A" players left in other positions of need, and "B" and "B+" linemen also still available. Deep draft, trade down, not up.

MOVING UP? highly unlikely. we dont have many pics and if we went up 3-5 spots, our draft would essentially be over as it will take a few pics to do it.

now, if were talking a player now and a pic or two for next year, thats a different story.

there IS going to be a player or two who were considered by all to go top 10 that WILL be there when #19 comes around. db, wr, lb. someone out of those positions will slide. a tackle could fall but i am one of the few who do not think we are going OT IN THE FIRST ROUND., not since we gave the money to albert. to many great rt's available through the 3rd round.i DO NOT want us to trade DOWN if there is a true blue chip player still on the board such as one of the top 4 cb's or calvin pryor or one of the play making wr's. i would rather us walk out of the draft with 4 players who most think will start day one than keep trading down and collecting decent guys or bench warmers. we have to many of those and need more big time play makers. BOTH sides of the ball!!

so, i guess if i have a SURPRISE pic, if we stay at #19, taking sua-filo would be that. i love that guys game, his get off is pretty awsome and he will end up being one of the best pulling guards in the nfl, and maybe THE best as he gets a couple years in. a guard is hi, but, this IS a great player and having him at left guard with albert on one side and pouncy on the other, that could be 3 5ths a pro bowl line come opening day.

XAVIER SUA-FILO is my surprise at #19.

spoiler?? nothing spoiler about, it hasnt happened and wont happen. usual smokescreen bull****. no way we trade up in this draft.

Well I can understand where you guys come from. I was also interested in moving back in the draft. I was not keen on moving was up or for martin. But for me lewan is a blue chip player and it would be worth if he drops out of top 10. Different strokes for different folks I suppose

Spoiler in reference to a popular websites final mock. Walterfootball is really popular website. Just didn't want ruin anyone's fun

Walter football spoilers? :o

Lewan would be awesome...but this isn't the draft to move up. If we felt we couldn't get RT later...then I would understand it. But, I strongly believe we can get one in round two.

I would get a playmaker that falls to us.
