Look at these stats:

First 3 games

vs. NE: 18 for 32, 178 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 3 carries for -2 yds.
at Buf: 31 for 49, 241 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 4 carries for 11 yds.
vs. KC: 21 for 43, 205 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT, 1 carry for 9 yds.

Now the last 3. Note the difference in rushing.

at Oak: 23 for 31, 278 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 5 carries for 35 yds.
vs. GB: 20 for 31, 244 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 3 carries for 49 yds.
at Chi: 25 for 32, 277 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INT, 6 carries for 48 yds (2 yds negated b/c he kneeled to run out the clock).

8 carries for 18 yds in the first 3 games. 14 carries for 132 yds the last 3 games. He threw 124 passes in those first 3 games and only 94 the last 3. This has to be the key to success for Tannehill and the offense. Versus Oakland and today against Chicago it seemed as if Lazor pulled out different plays from the playbook that we haven't seen all year. I didn't see those vs. Green Bay or the other games where Miami lost.

Ryan is learning to actually read and to option out of the read option look that we give so often, I think early on he was picking up the playbook and still learning how to read the edge rusher. Now that he has a few games under his belt he is pulling the trigger on the keepers more often. That would be my attempt at explaining it.

i dont think he is reading it. i think most are called runs for him

Add to that two wrinkles which seem either new or used more. 1 is the block from the TE coming across the line to give him more room to run and 2 the pass out of it which is confusing the hell out of a defense.

As the announcer said last week, the read option (when run correctly) makes defenses go nuts.

balance. ying and yang starting to work together.

uh, no.

uh, yes. watch the TE coming across the formation looking to reach the end. thats a designed call for the QB. Most times when its given to the RB the end is kicked out by the TE coming across

I think teams seeing this may be as important as doing it. Teams seem to have adjusted to Miami's running the last couple of weeks. Now, they have something else to think about and plan for. This should not make any difference vs Jax but, believe it will down the line when we have to deal with Detroit's DL and others. I'm liking Lazor more as the games go on.

Bill Lazor has stated, on the record, that the QB does not always have the option to keep it. They show it to try to slow the defense, but it is not an option on every play.

Its a designed call because they have been going after the RB many plays before.

Last week vs. GB RT never ran with it in the first half. Second half he burned them.

Its not just about the current play. Its a set up sometimes. But yes, RT is reading the crashing LB/DE. buy a clue vannah. its talked about all over by the announcers.

I have a clue. And I don't listen to announcers because they have no clue.

Biggest stat difference I've noticed from the first 3 weeks to last 3 weeks has been YPA its skyrocketed. He didn't break 6 YPA the first 3 weeks, last 3 have been 8.97, 7.87, and 8.7.

you mean guys who played football? thats funny. as their explaining the picture thats running in slow mo right in front of your eyes.

He has to continue growing in Lazor's system. I think he's starting to become more instinctual, but he now needs to take out Jacksonville in a big way. Personally, I want to see a 3 TD game from him. Actually, I want to see at least four 3 TD Games this season from Tannehill. Not saying he's a bust if he doesn't but if he wants to be elite he has to string together a few straight big games.
