A collection of draft grades: Miami's draft seen as slightly above average

Thanks for doing this. If you take into consideration our number of picks, that we really covered all our needs it really elevates our draft PlUS we really swung for the fenses picking Tua injuries aside. How can you give us a B grade or lower for that pick is beyond me and then give the Bengals a A for a guy that has been oft injured in college and only really shined his last year. Really there's only 3 questionable picks as far as reaching or drafting them to high and that's the guards and the DT. But based on how fast our picks came in our staff was convinced on these picks. Plus we also traded around wisely in this draft. Ended up with 12 new players and had up to 15 picks at one time. Great body of work.

Thanks for posting. Grades are always interesting, but we know its more relevant a few years down the line.

Tua is obviously the key. Also have to factor in the trade for Breida. Until that happened, I was disappointed that the Dolphins passed on all the talent at that position.

I have no idea how you can grade a draft before any of these players have even played a game in the NFL. Drafts should be graded 3 years after they take place and not before.
That’s the way I see it. Guess this is going off of need/bpa.

I see how it can be graded. They're not grading the impact made by the players bc to your point you can't do that yet. What I see as a grade is:
A) and most importantly.. the team's attention paid to the need that exists and whether they addressed it.
B) did they address it with assumed talent.

This is one the strangest drafts I remember watching, and not just us. Across the board, very odd.

You grade each team based on how they did according to each player's perceived value prior to playing an NFL game.

Since that's all you know at this point.

Hot names get A+'s baby!

We reached on way too many early picks (aside from Tua). Had the Chargers leapfrogged us and we got stuck with Herbert (assuming all other picks stay the same), Grier should have been fired for a very underwhelming rounds 1-3.

Reaches according to whom?

Have you watched every college football player and came up with what you think are the top 150 players??
